Summary The Associate Director, Quality Systems will be a key leader within the Corporate Quality organization. The role will be responsible for actively managing and reporting on quality system activities related to Quality Events, CAPA, change control, document control and training. This position is highly collaborative across all parts of Rubius with the overall responsibility to develop, implement and sustain the Quality Risk Management Program ensuring compliance with internal requirements and external GxP regulations. In addition to serving as a subject matter expert in these areas, they will be responsible for maintaining strong, collaborative partnerships with cross-functional/cross-site team members to facilitate and manage a strategy that allows the corporate quality system to scale and align with the business drivers. Responsibilities * Manage processes and SOPs in the area of responsibilities (Deviations/Investigation, CAPA, Quality Risk Management, Change Control and Quality Metrics). * Provide hands-on expertise in the day-to-day management of data and document control within the Quality Management System using electronic and paper-based solutions. This includes all aspects of issues management - change control, Quality Events, investigations, and CAPAs. * Establish and manage a centralized Risk Register process/program as a means of ensuring appropriate levels of identification, investigation, escalation, and resolution of quality issues for communication to the appropriate level of management and governance. * Responsible for monitoring overall quality system effectiveness - continuous improvements, trending beyond metrics, lessons learned/knowledge management, and striving for operational excellence. * Manage the documentation creation and revision process for SOPs and other regulated documents using electronic systems. * Provide guidance and support to internal customers in creation and maintenance of departmental and corporate procedures. * Creates training materials including web-based training presentations and other supplemental training content. Delivers training content to a diverse audience in an engaging and thought-provoking fashion. * Compile and evaluate quality metrics for dissemination across the organization. * Perform trending of KPIs to assist QA partners in identifying potential risks and supporting continuous improvement. * Monitor quality metrics for GxP related functional areas within the organization. Prepare and issue monthly reports. * Participate in process improvement initiatives (as necessary), performing gap analysis and risk communication. * Leads/participates in projects related to the general area of quality system responsibilities. * Ensure that all documentation regarding the Quality Management System is effectively maintained * Additional duties and responsibilities as required. Qualifications & Education * Bachelors or Advanced degree in Life Sciences or related field. * A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry with at least 5 years in a Quality function. * First-hand experience in managing and reviewing quality system elements (e.g., change control, deviation management and CAPA. * Expert knowledge and experience with data analysis, reporting and trending. * Work experience in a regulated environment (GCP, GLP, GMP). * In depth knowledge to provide quality assurance oversight for quality activities, understand specific activities including technical writing, training development and deployment, and continual process improvement methodologies including root cause analysis, and appropriate methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, etc.). * Proven experience related to risk management principles, processes and best practices. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft software applications including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint. * Strong leadership and management experience with the ability to work in a matrix environment.
