Enrollment Specialist-Medical Education

Department:

Enrollment Specialist-Medical Education who coordinates and oversees the execution of medical education enrollment functions for the Office of Admissions in the College of Medicine; serves as a point of contact for medical students; provides information to prospective medical students regarding the completion of their medical school applications; prepares and responds to correspondence; assists in the coordination of the admissions process; oversees the interview invitation process; assigns applications to student interviewers; tracks and monitors student interviewer progress; ensures interview processes are conducted within appropriate guidelines and timelines; coordinates and oversees multiple aspects of interview day including identifying, initiating contact, including scheduling applicant interviews with appropriate interviewers (September to March); prepares applicant interview packets with appropriate documents for review by interviewers and deliberators; coordinates the schedules for students, residents, and fellows for interview days; creates, maintains, and distributes master list of all accepted student information (May-Aug); compiles data from interview day evaluations to aid in decision making; assists with creation of biweekly admission decisions reports based on admissions committee recommendations and coordinates Admissions Committee approval process; posts decisions; manages withdrawal and waitlist spots through the summer leading up to matriculation; coordinates with the PCT office for successful completion of interview days; serves as liaison to the University Admissions Office and Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) regarding policies, procedures, and services to medical school applicants; prepares statistics for various reports and documents; assists in the coordination of special events; assists with managing student employees.

Minimum Education Required:

Per Classified Civil Service Specifications.

Required Qualifications:

Per CCS Specifications; six months experience (600 hours course work or training) in customer service or communications, including researching, analyzing & interpreting information; three months experience (300 hours course work) in budgeting; six months experience (600 hours training) in operation of spreadsheet, publication, and/or presentation software and related computer equipment; three months experience (300 hours course work) in supervision management; three months experience (300 hours course work) in interviewing. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
