This position reports to the Director ofAdmission and Recruitment. The Enrollment Specialist is a member of the Enrollment Management team and is responsible for implementing established student recruitment plans and strategies designed to increase the quantity, diversity, and success rate of WAU enrollment. This position provides friendly, professional, quality end-to-end service in records, registration, financial aid, student accounts, and other services.
  • Counsels and provides service to customers regarding end to end service in admissions, records, registration, scholarships, financial aid, student accounts, and programs of study, etc.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with representatives from the student accounts, financial aid, advising and the Registrars Offices and other campus departments and personnel in order to resolve student issues and develop quality improvement methods.
  • Represent WAU at area school and community events and serves an active role in all recruitment activities initiated by other campus entities. Conduct travel to secondary schools and other venues within the assigned area (may include evenings and weekends).
  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with individuals, departments, and organizations on campus as well as various constituencies off-campus, including secondary school officials.
  • Assist in the planning and development of various materials designed to attract quality students to WAU.
  • Assist with continuing assessment and evaluation of One Stop Center processes. Provide suggestions to enhance the delivery of enrollment services information provided in person, via phone, and email.
  • Perform general office and administrative functions as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records and information (FERPA Compliance).
  • Maintain files accurately, in paper and in software programs (such as Banner, Microsoft Office programs).
  • Maintain knowledge of College policies and procedures, College grounds and facilities, registration process, and all services provided at the College.

  • Work a regular Monday through Friday occasional weekends and overtime as may be required.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associates degree and/orfive years related experience in higher education specifically in the areas of recruitment, admissions, and/or enrollment counseling, may be substituted for the Bachelors Degree.
  • Bilingual preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment with both small and large groups.
  • Ability to work with a diverse, non-traditional, and traditionally underserved population.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of a student information system and/or knowledge of microcomputer/software applications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and written, at all levels.
  • Proven ability to present a positive image for the college, maintain professional demeanor, provide effective customer service, and make good decisions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities, community agencies, and the general public.
  • Ability to use judgment, discretion, and decision making skills in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate College policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and occasional travel.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Nursing Director and the Senior Community Health Worker, the Community Health Worker will conduct culturally appropriate health education, care management, care coordination, and outreach in community-based settings such as patient homes, schools, clinics, and community centers. The Community Health Worker will also assist patients to access the variety of social and medical services they need to maintain their health. The Community Health Worker will collaborate with their clinical team to promote health and wellness and contribute to the goals and objectives of a patient's care plan. Community Clinic, Inc. is a federally qualified health center and we encourage applicants who are interested in promoting patient centered care in our communities. As a member of the health center's integrated care team, the Community Health Worker will fulfill the following KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES towards the provision of patient centered, coordinated, patient care: * Establish trusting relationships with patients and their families and provide general support and encouragement. * Provide ongoing follow-up, basic motivational interviewing, and goal setting with patients/families. * Conduct intake interviews with patients, including enrolling patients into, and/or referring them to, various health, assistance, and social service programs. * Follow-up with patients, by phone, home visits and visits to other settings where patients can be found. * Assist patients with completing applications and registration forms. * Conduct eligibility determination, enrollment, and follow-up with uninsured patients. * Help patients set personal goals and attend appointments. * Help patients connect with transportation resources and give appointment reminders in special circumstances. Transporting patients is strictly prohibited. * Exhibit excellent working relationships with patients, visitors, and staff, effectively communicating CCI's mission. * Work closely with medical provider help ensure that patients have comprehensive and coordinated care. Follow-up with patient should be continuous from initial identification through closure. * Be knowledgeable about community resources appropriate to needs of patients/families. * Conduct the CHW tasks assigned on the Care Management Team including patient education. * Responsible for providing consistent communication to the Care Management Coordinator to evaluate patient/family status, ensuring that provided information, and reports clearly describe progress. * After training conduct the diabetes education groups. * Act as a patient advocate and liaison between the patient/family and community service agencies (i.e. schools, Department Human Services, Heath Care for Homeless, hospitals, support groups, etc.). * Record patient care management information in the EMR (training provided) and other software no later than 24 hours after patient contact. * Attend regular staff meetings, trainings and other meetings as requested. * Manage assigned caseload of patients. * Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * High School Diploma or its equivalent. * Successful completion of a Community Health Worker formal training program such as from a college or other educational institution is preferred. * Current CPR Certification. * Written and oral fluency in Spanish and English strongly preferred. * Experience working in a multi-cultural setting. * Experience working in a community-based setting for at least 1 to 2 years preferred. * Knowledge of some medical terminology preferred. * Basic computer skills. * Ability to initiate and maintain positive working relationships with CCI staff and other organizations. * Understand the community served - community connectedness. * Good communication skills, such as listening well, and using language appropriately. * Ability and willingness to provide emotional support, encouragement, and motivation to patients. WORKING CONDITIONS: * The ability to distinguish letters and symbols, as well as the ability to utilize telephone, computer terminals and copiers is required. * May be asked to lift to or about 25 pounds. * Work under stressful conditions within a controlled enclosed environment daily. Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment. They will be required to wear scrubs and occasionally protective barrier clothing during training. This can become uncomfortable in a warm, high humidity room. * ADA Category. This position may require prolonged periods of sedentary, stand and/or walk for more than eight (8) hours per day. Those physical movements and the degree of mobility, manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination normally associated with the practice of modern oral hygiene will be performed on a repetitive basis.
