Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving as a Customer Service Representative (17%)

  • Being a Part of a Relational Recruitment Team (17%)

  • Being an Academic Program Expert (16%)

  • Processing Application Materials (17%)

  • Academic Program Advising (17%)

  • Communication & Event Management (16%)

  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.

  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.

  • Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.

A day in the life of this position:

Journey with prospective and current students through the discernment and application process for George Fox graduate and adult degree programs. Share expertise of academic programs and guide students from inquiry to graduation. Throughout the academic year, each day will look different as you interact with students and faculty via email, Zoom, and in-person information events or interviews. Work independently with the collaborative support of the wider admissions team. This position directly impacts the life of a student and the success of the university!

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Experience fostering equity and inclusion for diverse students and employees.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Experience building rapport with internal and external constituents.

  • A passion for learning and an eagerness to grow and develop.

  • The ability to be a self starter and are a resourceful problem solver.

  • Effective organizational skills and a high level of dependability.

  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Job information:

  • Hours Per Week: 40 hours (1.0 FTE)

  • Primary Work Location: Portland Center Campus

  • *Hybrid scheduling available after a training period

  • Working Conditions: Physical requirements are those of a normal office environment

  • Supervisor: Associate Director of Graduate and Adult Degree Admissions
