Position Summary:
Coordinates developmentally appropriate activities, to foster individual growth and development of children in the grants program at the YMCA Of Florida's First Coast.

Whitehouse Elementary 11160 General Avenue Jacksonville Fl. 32220
Greenfield Elementary 6343 Knights Ln. Jacksonville Fl. 32216
Essential Functions:
- Provides quality supervision to students in program.
- Provides academic tutoring to struggling students.
- Carries out planned enrichment activities, while being engaged with students.
- Assists during special events, snack service and dinner service.
- Maintains positive relationship with Site Director, Lead Teachers and students.
- Serves as a positive role model to students.
- Presents the YMCA mission and vision to staff, students, school community and parents.
- Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations and child abuse prevention.
- Ensures the health and safety of all members/guests.
- Inspect physical space to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation and cleanliness of facilities.
Monday- Friday 3:00 - 6:00

Qualifications:
- High school diploma required.
- At least 18 years of age.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date. DCF 40 hours preferred, required within 90 days of hire.
- Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
- Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Some previous experience working with children.
- Willingness and ability to effectively communicate with youth.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility, resourcefulness and high energy.
Physical Demands:
Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities.
Up to 15 to 20 hours a week / Monday- Friday
