SUMMARY:

  • The hourly ESL Paraprofessional pay rate to work on assignment in Oxford Area School District is $19 per hour
  • The ESL Paraprofessional position will work 5.5 paid hours per day / 160 days per year
  • Bilingual English/Spanish - preferred

CURRENT ESL PARAPROFESSIONAL NEEDS:

  • Nottingham Elementary School
  • Penn's Grove Middle School
  • Oxford Area High School

The ESL Paraprofessional enhances the ESL program by supporting and working with students and school staff to perform all duties with accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism. ESL Paraprofessional coordinates with teacher to deliver content instruction. Will coordinate with the ESL and content area teachers in the delivery of English language and content instruction. This position supports ESL students in the acculturation process and assists with translation and interpretation materials.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly support students at the direction of building Principals and classroom teacher
  • Provide instructional, behavioral and/or physical assistance to students - including, but not limited to: the use of assistive technology, on-task prompting, facilitating social skills, toileting and self-care skills
  • Work with students on organizational skills, guide students in activities, monitor student progress

Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • At least two-years of post secondary education (48 college credits), Associates or Bachelors degree in any area of study
  • Bilingual English / Spanish preferred
  • Experience working with children preferred

CREDENTIALING :

(Clearances current within 12 months)

  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN
  • TB Screening (current within 3 months)
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
