Appropriate credential, including CLAD or SDAIE authorization;

A major or minor in the subject area;

Demonstrated ability to teach all levels of the specific curriculum;

Willingness to collaborate in interdisciplinary instructional teams;

Familiarity with performance assessment and outcome-based education;

Knowledge of new frameworks and state content standards, instructional methods and delivery systems which provide rigor and active learning;

Ability to also teach other subject areas preferred.

Ability to teach ELD;

Solid grounding in the philosophy, research and practice in the teaching of English;

Knowledge of and experience with Bay Area Writing Project approaches and teaching strategies for writing;

Knowledge of research and experience with strategies for the teaching of reading; must be well read in literature and research;

Understanding of how to use technology as a tool for teaching English;

Consciousness of the value of reading, writing and speaking for the world of work.
