ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS COACH/TEACHER (K-5)

Full-time Coaching/Teaching Position; 7.5 hours/day; Monday - Friday;

Working with students and teachers in a full inclusionary model.

Requires a current Montana Educator License with a preferred endorsement in English, Reading or Foreign Language.

• ESL Training/Experience preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Registration: Facilitate and support student registration

• Health: Support student health needs

• Placement: Ensure proper student placement

• New arrivals (Entering English language development): Provide support and English learning program for new arrivals and their teachers

• Training: Provide training for all teachers, and specific training for teachers of EL students

• Annual WIDA ACCESS testing: Oversee and administer annual English Language Proficiency testing (WIDA ACCESS for ELs)

• Program Compliance: Oversee the implementation of the school district LIEP (Language Instruction Educational Program)

• Parents: Support parents and liaison with the school and community resources.

• Teacher Council: Facilitate and lead the Teacher Council

• Paras: Supervise paraprofessionals that serve EL students

• Summer school: Organize summer learning opportunities for identified students

• Other Duties

• Attend training on district initiatives and grants

• Network with other ELL professionals
