More About the Role:
The On-site Technical Lead provides technical leadership to a team of developers and systems administrators. The Technical Lead coordinates the Operations and Maintenance team and activities to ensure efficient deployment of upgrades and system modifications. The tech lead is responsible for ensuring the protocols prescribed by the software engineering methodology and properly deployed into the physical and virtual environments.

Works independently of any direct supervision and provides technical direction and guidance to lower-level professional software personnel performing difficult and highly complex software engineering assignments relative to the modification and/or maintenance of software systems.
The On-site Technical Lead formulates and develops systems or subsystems architecture, requirements, and design documents.
Successful applicants must be able to:
Understand the technical requirements for system upgrades. These upgrades may be for developed code, operating systems, or COTS software (ex: JAVA).
Lead the planning for operations and maintenance activities, such as patching and system updates. This includes leading conversations and planning with the customer, as well as leading the technical team.
Formulate systems or subsystems architecture and design.
Formulate systems or subsystems requirements.
Develop systems or subsystems.
Manage agile software development cycles.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 8-12 years of prior relevant experience or Master's with 6-10 years of experience in Engineering or equivalent.
Eight or more years of experience performing highly complex software engineering activities using "state-of-the-art" software engineering concepts and software techniques.
Certification as an Amazon Web Services Certified Associate.
Experience with migration and operation of systems, that are similar to TONS, to an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment.
Agile software development experience.
A professional background in Systems Engineering / Architecture and HLT, ideally in a U.S. Government environment; or equivalent knowledge of the Human Language Technology field.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Demonstrated knowledge and application of industry best practices and standards for software engineering and software development.
Experience with software development lifecycle (from requirements to an operational system and system decommission).
Experience with software configuration management (version control, bug/issue tracking, software build tools).
Experience with migration of systems from one environment to another environment.
Experience developing and deploying systems for the intelligence community.
Experience integrating with FBI Enterprise applications.
Experience fielding government workflow applications with a proven track record of success.
Experience with Human Language Technologies and Computer Assisted Translation.
