THIS IS A MULTI-LEVEL POSITION (ENGINEER THRU SR ENGINEER):

Serve as Chemist for Salem Generating Station. Review and trend quality control and quality assurance data for primary, secondary and count room laboratories, including analysis and reporting of extracted information, and make recommendations to the Station Chemistry management based on data analysis.

Implement and provide oversight of the closed cooling water systems at Salem station. Anticipate transient chemistry conditions by providing projections when major plant conditions change or are anticipated to change. Responsible for chemistry closed cooling water strategic plan development and action items.

Optimize chemistry controls. Monitor Chemistry and prepare monthly trending reports. Maintain the Closed Cooling Water Chemistry portions of the Salem UFSARs.

Provide mentoring to station personnel in the implementation of the closed cooling water chemistry programs. Supports refuel outage planning and implementation of chemistry system shutdown in accordance with EPRI guidelines and industry best practices. Perform engineering evaluations and design change development to ensure optimum chemistry performance.

Perform self-assessments, including Peer or Management observations, and corrective actions to improve the chemistry performance. Represent PSEG in industry guideline development and revisions. Lead site involvement with industry peers, Owners Groups, EPRI and INPO. Perform 50.59 and SQR reviews.

REQUIRED: BS in Chemistry/related Science with related experience to qualify as an Engineer or Education/experience in Chemistry field to qualify as a Technical Analyst. 1- 3 years general Chemistry exp, preferably in Nuclear field.

Must meet the minimum qualification requirements of ANSI N3.1-1981. Must meet Nuclear's requirements for unescorted site access. DESIRED: Two years 'experience in primary/secondary/closed cooling water system Chemistry at an operating nuclear plant.

Two years' experience in radiochemistry. Working knowledge of INPO and EPRI chemistry practices. Advanced related degree

"Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls".
