The Nashville office of KCI Technologies, Inc. is looking for a highly talented, creative and motivated civil engineering graduate to join our traffic engineering/transportation planning group in our expanding office in Nashville. We work on a wide variety of exciting, high profile projects and are looking for talented staff to help the firm continue our leadership role in the traffic/transportation consulting field.

In this role, the Engineer-in-Training will work with project engineers and managers to complete transportation and traffic studies and designs, including traffic impact studies, traffic safety studies, parking studies, traffic calming plans, bicycle & pedestrian planning & design projects, signal warrant studies, corridor studies, traffic modeling using Synchro/HCS/VISSIM, and intersection and roadway design.

Experience The ideal candidate will be a civil engineering graduate with 0-4 years' prior experience in Transportation/Traffic Engineering who has passed the Fundamentals of Engineering ("EIT") exam. Coursework in Transportation/Traffic Engineering is highly desirable.

Skills The candidate should have a basic understanding of traffic analysis software applications such as HCS, Synchro, VISSIM as well as AutoCAD and/or Microstation. Good problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills are required.

Degrees / Licenses (R)equired (P)referred Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required, E.I.T. desired.

Stantec's Geotechnical practice has an immediate opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer in Training. As Geotechnical EIT you will provide comprehensive geotechnical services to Stantec clients from field explorations to the design and construction management of complex geotechnical structures. You will provide specialized services such as the analysis and design of foundation elements, dam and levee structures, and seismic remediation design. Your Opportunity The role of an entry level civil engineer is to work on smaller projects, and as a team member of larger projects under the close guidance and supervision of a senior engineer/designer. You should be able to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for a project. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations, field work, coordination of simple tasks, and meeting attendance and recording. The smaller projects that an entry level civil engineer may be assigned to will have relatively few complex features. In general, an entry level civil engineer will assist more senior engineers/designers by performing the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments. Your Key Responsibilities * Use knowledge of general concepts of relevant civil engineering elements including system hydraulics, surveying and topographic mapping, geotechnical considerations, grading, utility investigations and analyses. * Assists team in preparing civil designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports. * Conducts basic calculations and performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned and under the supervision of a project engineer. * May perform field work related to pilot and/or construction related activities. * Assists in supporting the civil team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications. * Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Your Capabilities and Credentials * Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil engineering design including gravity and pressure systems, geotechnical, survey, storm water/drainage design, road design, erosion and sediment control, and grading. * Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought. * Understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others. * Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought. * Ability to interpret sketches, engineering drawings, and other similar material. * Basic experience in Microsoft Office, as well as relevant discipline software programs, which may include AutoCAD Civil3D, PCSWMM, StormCAD, WaterCAD, (or other modeling software). * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering. Masters preferred. Must have taken and successfully passed the FE exam Minimum of 0-2 years of experience. Co-op/Internship experience preferred. Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
