Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Engineering/Machining Co-Op candidate to join our Engineering department located at our Ridgefield facility. As a Co-Op, you will assist our Engineered Solutions Lab to solve problems and address needs for our scientists and support staff. Prototyping parts and other solutions as well as the machining and developing of the prototypes will be expected.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Communicate with a diverse range of individuals from scientists, to technicians and mechanics to establish needs.
Engineer a solution based on information provided by the customer.
Be agile to switch between jobs that may take priority over the current project.
Being able to create a list of materials and/or parts needed to complete the work.
Must be an Undergraduate, Graduate, or Professional Student in good academic standing.
Must have completed 12 credit hours within a related major and/or other related coursework.
Overall, cumulative GPA (from last completed quarter) must be at least 3.000 (on 4.0 scale) or better (No rounding up).
Major must be related to the field of internship.
Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient with manual lathes, manual milling machines, hydraulic shears, manual and Hydraulic Brake, MIG Welders, TIG Welders, Plasma Cutters, Vertical and Horizontal Saws,
Manual Punches, Drill Presses, Sand Blasters, Sanders and Grinders and hand and power tools.
Proven ability to work safely
Work with minimal supervision
Good communication skills, verbal and written.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
