ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT SERVICES
The Engineering Technician must be fluent with AutoCAD, EXCEL, WORD, MS VISIO and MS Project as well as have knowledge of electrostatic discharge (ESD), system grounding, lightning protection; public works functions such as identification of customer requirements, development of specifications, statement of work and cost estimates; project management, coordination and quality control; understanding of data and voice communications equipment, cabling and building/underground infrastructures; use of fiber optic and copper test equipment; submittal of forms and attachments; coordination of work with various shop areas; equipment identification, specifications, facility preparation, installation, testing, and training coordination; volumetric evaluations of space in order to provide optimal use of production and warehouse space.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED:
In addition to any other requirements for written work products, a weekly report shall be prepared and submitted to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), the engineer will be required to:
Work with other CORs and perform inspections on various projects including:
Two (2) to Five (5) years of experience working as an Engineering Technician.
Experience in IT networking, infrastructure and communications systems.
B. S. Engineering Technology desirable.
Two (2) years of experience as a project manager.
