Essential Functions:

  • Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.

  • Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment.

  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.

  • Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.

  • May work with complex machines or computer systems.

  • Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.

  • Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.

  • electronic or electro-mechanical component build up which may include skilled hand work or utilizing automated production equipment.

  • Comprehends and interprets a variety of technical specifications, terms and documents. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units.

  • Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Good communication skills including the ability to deliver effective presentations to peers, management and customers.

  • Knowledge of MIL/IPC workmanship and performance standards related to electronic assemblies (Mil-Std 883, Mil-Perf-38534, IPC-610, etc.).

  • Experience in lean manufacturing and leading process improvement initiatives.

  • Knowledge of MES.

  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft office.

VIEW JOBS 1/10/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-09T00:00 Description: Job Title: Test Engineering Technician-2nd Shift Job Code: SAS20192312-38283 Job Location: Malabar, FL Job Description: Apply electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, electrical testing procedures and related subjects to test and troubleshoot analog and digital circuitry which consists of discrete and integrated circuits. Responsible for ensuring deliverables meet all performance requirements through manufacturing test processes on avionic systems. Execute functional, ESS and ATP tests. Additional responsibilities include the manufacturing of test sets. Essential Functions: * Fully proficient support individual contributor. Works under limited supervision. * May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise. Assignments are moderately difficult requiring some judgment. * Fiber Optic handling experience would be a bonus Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or equivalent work experience. * 4 years' experience troubleshooting electronics. * 4 years' experience in the operation of test equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Oscilloscope, Signal Generators, and DMMs Preferred Additional Skills: * Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.
