Geodesicx, Inc. is in search of an Engineering Technician VI to join our team in the Norfolk, VA area. The Engineering Technician VI is responsible for providing advanced technical support in the testing, screening, configuration, repairing, and resolution of shipboard casualty repairs for various Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) and Command and Control (C2) systems across multiple platforms supporting Department of Defense end users.

Specific Duties: Perform equipment checkout on Depot Level Repairable (DLR) materials returned from fleet users for beyond economical repair analysis and restoration to Ready for Issue (RFI) condition. Provide support to resolve Casualty Repairs (CASREPs) and fleet failure events to return systems to an operational status, provide warranty interface support to the fleet for hardware that has a manufacturer's warranty, interface with vendors to track warranty repairs, and update helpdesk tickets.

Research and track non-returned fleet items and lost shipment issues. Inspect for damage material received as RFI assets from repair or procurement before being received by the inventory management database. Conduct Not Ready for Issue (NRFI) Screening/Testing by testing assets received as NRFI to verify failure occurrence.

Assets found to exhibit No Failure Evident (NFE) shall be processed for receipt to the RFI inventory. Assets exhibiting minor failures shall be repaired and processed for receipt to the RFI inventory. Research if an NRFI asset is covered under warranty prior to processing for repair.

For NRFI assets covered under warranty, take action to obtain the repair/replacement from the Original Equipment Manufacturer. Returned warranty assets will be processed for receipt to the RFI inventory. Process for repair those parts that are not covered under warranty.

Verify each requisition using Allowance Parts Lists (APLs) and CDMDOA as well as other available configuration information such as drawing and technical data packages to ensure properly configured material is provided. Experience Requirements: 12 years of practical experience with an Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or 14 years of practical experience with a High School diploma or GED. Notable experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings.

Capable of independently planning and accomplishing complete projects or studies of broad scope and complexity or serving as an expert in a narrow aspect of a particular field of engineering. Education Requirements: Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from Technical School, Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or a four-year electronics apprentice program; or High School diploma or GED.
