SAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician IV in Crane, IN to support the U.S. Navy.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Designs, develops, and constructs major units, devices, or equipment; conducts tests or experiments; analyzes results and redesigns or modifies equipment to improve performance; and reports results.
From general guidelines and specifications (e.g., size or weight requirements), develops designs for equipment without critical performance requirements that are difficult to satisfy such as engine parts, research instruments, or special purpose circuitry. Analyzes technical data to determine applicability to design problems; selects from several possible design layouts; calculates design data; and prepares layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, etc. May check and analyze drawings or equipment to determine adequacy of drawings and design.
Plans or assists in planning tests to evaluate equipment performance. Determines test requirements, equipment modification, and test procedures; conducts tests using all types of instruments; analyzes and evaluates test results and prepares reports on findings and recommendations.
Provides technical support for AEA assigned systems or platforms to include the modification, maintenance, repair, and upgrade (MRU) of fielded EW systems and related Support Equipment. Test and evaluate AEA and related systems, subsystems, equipment and components both locally and at other test sites and locations.
Conduct routine repair, retrofit, systems integration, calibration and testing; in-line repair and testing; operation of test equipment; coordinate test schedules; prepare inputs for test plans; review test plans and procedures; conduct or monitor system, subsystem, equipment or component testing; adjust units under test; analyze test results; and determine valid recommendations and conclusions based on test data.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Associate's Degree in related discipline and at least 8 years of related experience; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years of related experience
Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; Interim Secret required to start
Must be willing to obtain a soldering certification after hire
Must be able to work from schematics and engineering drawings
Must have the ability to investigate and troubleshoot problems in operational hardware and software
