Job Responsibilities

Test, Tune, and Troubleshoot Assemble, Disassemble, Calibrate, Fix and Repair does this sound familiar to you? You enjoy working side by side with engineers and being an integral part of developing new state-of-the-art communications equipment that enables people to reach out to the world.

As a developing Engineering Technician you will responsible for supporting engineering development and production activities such as testing, troubleshooting, and modification down to the circuit level of RF based hybrid electro-mechanical module and sub-assemblies. You will trained to configure RF test setups and perform measurements such as gain, P1dB, noise figure, phase noise, adjacent channel rejection, and isolation, just to name a few. You have a keen attention to detail as you conduct high level RF Tests and create associated documentation.   • 2+years relevant work experience

  • Ability to work different shifts

  • Basic electronic test and troubleshooting skills

  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment

  • Basic computer skills including good skills with Microsoft Office

  • Good communication and team skills

  • Associates of Science Degree in Electronics Technology or related technical discipline or equivalent work experience

  • US Government position. US Citizenship required

  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically


  • Knowledge of RF test techniques.

  • Experience working in an RF engineering environment.

  • Experience testing and troubleshooting RF amplifiers, LNAs, and Up/Down Converters.

  • Self directed but good working in a team.

This position is located in Phoenix, Arizona. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Routine Repetitive task such as Cleaning, Testing, and Repair failed equipment; including but not limited to desktops, printers, point-of-sale equipment, scanning devices, and weighing systems. * Process warranty using various RMA processes. * Test documentation that will be sent to the field. * Use of work tracking Database. * Work with peers and diverse knowledge teams to accomplish common goals. * PCB rework of electronic circuits including surface mount. * Failure tracking and trend analysis to determine design deficiencies; facilitated by Field Service database. * Frequently work with operating systems, production applications, LANs, software, hardware, and retail systems. * Test and Certify field maintenance documentation in support of field-level repairs. * Regularly participates in equipment deployments; pilots, installation and training documentation, etc. in support of device projected role. * Local travel to local stores for equipment deployment rollouts (possible overnight shifts during scheduled rollouts). * Develop close vendor relationships to maximize and simplify repair, support, and refresh opportunities. Qualifications: * Associate's degree or completion of equivalent training in related electronics technology. * 1 - 2 years of Safeway Retail experience is preferred. * Working knowledge of troubleshooting and repair of personal computers, basic networks, servers, and output devices. * Significant experience working with various operating systems, Microsoft products (MS Office), device drivers, diagnostic utilities, and Internet browsers. * Operational knowledge of weighing systems, printing devices, networking, and point-of-sale devices. * Proven experience in the deployment and installation of electronic devices. * MUST be an effective communicator electronically and on paper; public speaking experience is also preferred. * Basic soldering knowledge and skills is preferred. * Working knowledge of databases, including data entry, retrieval, and data utilization * Valid Driver's license. * Experience managing multiple tasks and driving them to completion with a high degree of success. * Able to regularly work independently. * A proven ability to perform as a strong Team Player. * Must be able regularly lift up to 50 pounds of equipment; some twisting and turning during equipment installations or repair. * Must have second shift availability.
