Summary

The person selected for this position will work on multi-discipline project teams to provide computer-aided drafting expertise using AutoCAD on a Windows platform with a strong emphasis on Civil 3D. The successful candidate will undertake challenging work on civil engineering projects involving data collection, planning, and problem-solving. You will work with engineers to create, update, and revise drawings of civil, mechanical, electrical, or structural, systems. Project responsibilities primarily include development and management of overall project CAD file structure, base files, planimetrics, design surfaces and pipe drafting networks, construction drawings, and renderings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two-year technical certificate or experience/coursework directly related to the job responsibilities described above

  • Ten years of experience with civil engineering project design, layout and production drafting workflow

  • Proficiency with current versions of AutoCAD/Civil 3D

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and word processing software

  • Strong technical skills including attention to detail, accuracy and completeness

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with project team members in a high-energy working environment that encourages self-initiative

  • Strong organizational skills including ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • A flexible working style and willingness to modify personal schedules when required to meet deadlines and client needs

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship

  • Acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fifteen or more years of experience working on projects directly related to job responsibilities described above at a consulting engineering

  • Familiarity with work in an industrial environment and basic knowledge of various industrial disciplines and industrial construction

NOTE: Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and to enter and work within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Applies documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
