Engineering Technician, Millwright, Body In White (Model 3)

The Engineering Technician, BIW will be responsible for identifying areas of improvement and coordinating with engineering and maintenance to modify and implement countermeasures in our Body Center

• Work with the BIW Process Engineer team to diagnose and implement countermeasures to any production process issues (Yield, Quality, Cycle Time, Cost, Ergonomics, Safety, Process Flow, Efficiency improvements)

• Identify areas of improvement, work with other engineering and/or maintenance groups to schedule modifications and the implementation of countermeasure

• Day to day coverage of production line process, including rapid response to the day to day issue challenging production operations.

• Investigate and implement countermeasures to improve process Quality and product yield

• Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives

• Manage small projects involving multiple departments and/or outside contractors

• Create SOPs for production.

• Strong technician experience (Completion of a maintenance apprenticeship or equivalent OJT experience)

• 3+ years of manufacturing experience. Experience with Production and Assembly Operations a plus

• Strong mechanical aptitude, experience with a wide verity of hand tools. Machine shop, Metal Fabrication shop experience recommended

• Strong problem solving skills and an aptitude for learning systems quickly

• Exceptional capacity for managing simultaneous activities and challenges

• Experience with building fences, experience welding and fabrication, using Roto Hammer

• Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
