First Division Consulting, Inc. (FirstDiv) is in search of an Engineering Technician II to join our team in the Charleston, SC area. The Engineering Technician II is responsible for providing technical support for testing, screening, configuration, and repair of equipment to ensure optimal performance and resolution of shipboard casualty repairs. The technician will work closely with engineering teams to diagnose and troubleshoot issues, ensuring the reliability and functionality of systems and components.
The qualified candidate(s) shall perform the following tasks:
- Conduct testing and screening of equipment to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Configure systems and components to meet operational requirements.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Utilize technical manuals and documentation to guide repair and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures during all technical operations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.
Requirements
- A minimum of four (4) years of practical experience in a relevant technical field.
- Demonstrated experience in testing, screening, configuring, and repairing technical equipment.
- Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Familiarity with C4ISR integrated systems and components is preferred.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- An associate's degree or higher in Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field is required.
- BS degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering preferred.
- Three (3) years of professional experience with design, development, testing, and supervising the manufacturing/integration of electrical and electronic equipment, including systems/equipment support and test and evaluation support of C4ISR or similar requirements.
Specific Experience:
- One (1) year of technical experience in support of vehicular platform integration. Experience may be achieved simultaneously.
- Relevant technical certifications may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Secret clearance required.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
- Light to moderate lifting may be required.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
