Summary/Objective

Five Stones Research Corporation (5SRC) is seeking energetic candidates to join our established and growing Huntsville-headquartered family.

Pursuant to EO 14042, this position will require proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or an approved accommodation on file.

Essential Functions:

In buildings, perform work in raceways under floors, above ceilings, in network or communications cabinets, and in wall-mount enclosures.
Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain Category 6 twisted pair cables, fiber optic cables, and breakout kits for multi-fiber optic cables.
Install ancillary hardware for supporting or routing Category 6 and fiber optic cables; e.g., trays, hangers, conduits, raceways, etc.
Build out and maintain cable racks to be functional and in good appearance.
Perform system tests using scanners, spectrum analyzers, and other electronic test equipment.
Prepares link documentation.
Prepares documentation of installations, including cable properties, cable paths, and post-installation test results.

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year vocational, military, or technical school training in practical, technical, or industrial arts; or, certification at the journeyman level in one of the three specialization areas. And, two years' experience in providing information technology (IT) support to military or civilian organizations.
Alternatively, five years' experience providing IT support to military or civilian organizations.
Additionally, must have experience installing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining Category 6 twisted pair cables, fiber optic cables, and connection hardware.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Department of Defense IT support experience.
Ground-trenching machinery operator experience.

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will provide domain expertise to engineering and production resources related to EHS for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on safety and health compliance with local, state, and federal regulations at the Huntsville Engine Manufacturing Facility or Marshal Space Flight Center (MSFC) - 4670 Test Stand including, but not limited to: OSHA General Industry and Construction Standards. You will ensure environmental compliance with local, state, and federal regulations at the MSFC-4670 Test Stand, but not limited to: NEPA, RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC, and NPDES.
