Summary

Responsibilities

  • Research solutions for construction issues to establish alternative proposals for designer consideration.

  • Investigate alleged field conditions requiring changes in original plans and specifications, faulty construction or defective materials to recommend contract modifications to contracting officer.

  • Develop or modify process instructions to ensure compliance with technical and safety requirements.

  • Inspect construction work on site to ensure work is done in accordance with contract documents.

Qualifications

This is a full-time, temporary assignment Not To Exceed (NTE) 1 year. This assignment may be extended up to 2 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulation. This position may be filled as a Temporary Promotion or Temporary Reassignment.

This position is a 100% TDY position at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Africa.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Provides construction reviews of plans and specifications for technical soundness and practicability; 2) Utilizes construction project scheduling knowledge and expertise to track progress of projects; 3) Prepares technical analysis, cost estimates, and reviews engineering designs for proposed changes; 4) Ensures contractors' compliance with safety and environmental requirements. Job Skills / Requirements Completes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of Baggage Handling Systems and/or Passenger Boarding Bridges; Mentors, trains and assigns tasks of other personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities in the absence of Senior Technicians and/or Supervisors. Responsibilities * Completes basic maintenance assignments involving but not limited to preventive, routine and emergency maintenance, clearing system jams; shift inspections, cleaning, and/or electrical and mechanical adjustments. * Diagnoses equipment failures under the guidance of senior personnel; ensures equipment is running safely. * Takes direction and seeks the guidance and expertise of senior level personnel and accepts training and mentoring from them. * Provides direction, guidance and expertise to personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities, conducts training and mentoring responsibilities; may act as lead in the absence of Sr. Technicians and/or supervisors * Reads and interprets repair manuals, basic schematics and supervisor/manager's instructions. * Works in tight and/or high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment. * Follows and complies with all company and federally established policies and procedures; completes all applicable training courses assigned by the company * Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures. * Performs additional duties/assignments as may be required by management. * Assists with basic maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning and greasing. * Completes all safety training as assigned by the Company. * Compliance with all ERMC safety programs, policies and procedures. * Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time.
