Description
Role
The Engineering Technician will be responsible for the following job functions. The job duties herein describe essential functions of the position. Additionally, regular attendance and punctuality are essential to the success of the position. The individual should be able to perform these essential functions with or without requested reasonable accommodations.
Essential Functions
Perform operational functions of CNC machines.
Provide training support to manufacturing associates related to process improvements and use of new tooling/featuring.
Assist in developing time standards for processes.
Assisting in the preparation of project proposals, reports, and presentations
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Conducting research and providing input on product design specifications
Be able to be hands on with projects
Develop Rework Orders to complete repairs.
Troubleshoots technical issues with product.
Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints
Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
Assist in the evaluation of existing designs to determine areas of performance/reliability improvements and appropriate cost targets; make recommendations & implement plans.
Propose modifications to existing equipment to improve/enhance its manufacturability, cost, performance, functionality, or reliability.
Effectively creates design plans, inspection, and test plans (ITP), plus material and testing standards.
Perform sustaining, verification, and qualification tests at all levels from component to assembly to system level as directed by engineering manager.
Promote and strictly adhere to all Company HSE policies and practices.
Understand and comply with all Company or external quality standards relevant to position.
Conduct all business activities in accordance with the company code of conduct, policies and procedures and all applicable legal requirements.
Work independently following and implementing test plans / experiments, and documenting results
Assist in design of fixtures, jigs, and/or tooling for testing and manufacturing purposes
Perform other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required, 2 to 4 years of experience is preferred.
High School diploma required
Must have strong attention to detail
Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise
Onshape, Simulation and CFD experience is a plus.
Highly proficient in Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Knowledge of downhole tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance, a plus.
Skills, Abilities & Work Style
Ability to read an engineering print.
Ability to make program edits and adjust off sets.
Ability to perform mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to use proper measuring tools to perform quality inspections.
