We are seeking an Engineering Technician 3 at Edwards, AFB, CA.

ASRC Federal Space and Defense, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal Holding Company, brings a 14-year history of delivering high-performance space systems engineering, integration and satellite operations services to civil and defense agencies. ASRC Federal Space and Defense provides these services throughout all phases of the program life cycle and across the entire space systems architecture, including space and ground assets.

The successful candidate will have the following:

Basic knowledge of building construction and components (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and landscaping).

Project coordination experience (project review (mechanical drawings), liaison between government, contractor and building residents).

Lab room exhaust hood airflow monitor technician.

Building GN2 reduction station technician.

Work with Air Force Safety and ensure the proper Personal Protective Equipment is identified for each work location.

Manage the buildings Logistics Programs.

Manage wastewater discharge permit from Laundering of Lab Coats.

Launder Lab coats.

Serve as the buildings Safety Representative and perform training on local policies and plans to all building personnel.

A person that can manage stress and can prioritize tasks in a Self-motivated, positive attitude, friendly and works well with others (whether it is following or leading).

A person that can prioritize tasks in constantly changing environment

Skills:

Must have technological skills proven by verifiable and specific work experience or technical publication.

Must have ability to work within schedule and budget restraints.

Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.

Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.

Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.

Must be able to switch tasks at a moment's notice.

Walk through the safety analysis before starting the new task.

Must be able to gain access to the customer's computer networks.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7 YEARS OF Technician BACKGROUND.

  • Experience with MS Office and database/data entry computer experience.

Demonstrated ability in:

  • Demonstrated increase in mechanical experience and abilities.

  • Strong background in Working Safely

  • Valid state vehicle operator's license.

  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a final security clearance at the SECRET level.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Forklift License up to 10K.

  • Work overtime with little notification.

Seeking an Engineering Technician that has basic mechanical knowledge. Will be required to work in a team environment and follow the instructions of a senior technician. Must be able to be certified to operate a forklift. May be required to drive and deliver or pick-up parts or equipment. Able to assist in the development and follow developed procedures and safe plans of actions. Have some experience in operating basic types of equipment. Will be required to change work locations with little notice and provide support. Maybe be required be required to learn and manage the area's hazardous waste accumulation point and other duties as assigned. Education, Training & Experience Ability to understand basic engineering terminology. College courses in engineering, mathematics, or science highly desirable. Must be very familiar with the operations of computers and other office equipment. Must have a valid CA driver's license and must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship. Physical Requirements May require sitting in front of a computer for extended periods of time (50%). The ability to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, reach above shoulder level and climb into a vehicle is required (up to 50%). Walking and working over rough terrain is required (50%). The ability to push and pull as well as lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required (up to 50%). Work Environment Expected to be able to lift 50 lbs. safely and safe use of ladders are required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere and demonstrate leadership that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Will be required to work in extreme temperatures from cold to very hot. Equipment and Machines Office equipment operation -- copier, computer, general equipment, fax, etc. -- 10%. Operate a forklift -- 5%; drive a pickup truck -- 5%; drive a 1-1/2 to 3 ton truck -- 5%. Attendance Urgency of punctuality and regular attendance -- 100%. Work outside of normal duty hours may be required with as little as one-hour advance notice. Other Essential Functions Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with personnel at various levels of the organization as well as the client. Must be able to receive and understand written and verbal instructions. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
