Job Summary

The part-time Engineering Technician 1 assists with maintenance and repair in the areas of electrical, structure buildup and teardown, and building maintenance at Bojangles' Coliseum & Ovens Auditorium. Employee must be able to complete jobs in a timely manner, work independently as well as with other team members.

Essential Job Duties

  • Install all electrical components for events in CRVA facilities.

  • Work with supervisor to ensure all setup is done to meet client expectations.

  • Teardown shows and clean up areas for next scheduled event.

  • Maintain all equipment in facility that is part of the heating and cooling systems.

  • May assist with HVAC repairs, etc.

  • Ensure proper light set up prior to all events.

  • Coordinate with vendors on facility floor to ensure accuracy of detailed floor plans.

  • Assist other engineering staff with painting, carpentry, dry wall repair, etc.

  • May perform other duties as required.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include days, nights, weekends and/or holidays.

  • Must be able to work at heights up to 100 feet.

  • Knowledge of Metasys building automation system

  • Assist with ice floor installation, removal, and daily maintenance.

  • Must be able to use ladders, lifts and scaffolding to perform daily repairs.

  • This job has no budgetary responsibilities.

  • This job will have periodic access to confidential data including customer quotes and product costs.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this role.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization. Ability to write business correspondence.

  • Ability to solve basic math problems.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Ability to anticipate customer needs, build positive relationships with customers and vendors, go the extra mile to satisfy and exceed customer needs, treats all customers and vendors with highest degree of respect and courtesy, deliver exceptional service to internal and external customers.

  • Employee should display a team oriented approach in the workplace.

Education and Experience

  • A High School Diploma is required and a minimum of two years specialized schooling or related experience in at least one of the disciplines listed below:

  • Areas of expertise for the Venue Engineering programs may include, but are not limited to the following:

o Electrical

o Plumbing

o HVAC

o Ice Technician

o Carpentry/Painting

o Mechanical Trades (doors, locks, alarm systems, etc.)

Physical Demands

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.

  • The employee must regularly use power hand tools.

  • The employee must be capable of working safely while keeping a fast pace to complete show day duties.

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment could vary depending on the setting.

Travel Required

  • This job has limited travel requirements between venues.

Job Summary The Concessions Area Supervisor is responsible for supervising staff at concessions stands and carts at Bojangles' Coliseum ensuring that all operations are carried out successfully. Essential Job Duties * Follows standard inventory controls and procedures. * Ensures concession stand procedures are being met at assigned locations. * Ensures concession stand sheets are accurate and completed each event. * Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. * Provides customer service guidelines to event staff. * Work with all staff in a friendly and professional manner. * Train staff to provide high quality customer service. * Communicate via two-way radio. * Maintain professional attire, image and demeanor at all times. Scope of Responsibility * This job has no budgetary responsibilities. Supervisory Responsibility * Supervises concession stand and cart leads during events. * Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. * Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Knowledge and Skill Requirements * Ability to understand procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. * To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite; Food Service equipment; and Two-way radio. Education and Experience * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Three years of customer service experience. Physical Demands * The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
