Job Description:
As an Engineering Tech IV, you will provide technical and engineering services for the maintenance and support of Meteorological and Oceanographic (METOC) systems. These systems include the Naval Integrated Tactical Environmental System
Next Generation (NITES-NEXT), Naval Integrated Tactical Environmental System
IV (NITES-IV), Hazardous Weather Detection and Display Capability (HWDDC) and Meteorological Mobile Facility (Replacement) Next Generation (METMF(R) NEXGEN).
Responsibilities Include:
Provide technical and engineering support for the design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance of METOC systems and equipment.
Conduct analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving to identify and resolve issues with complex systems and equipment, often under challenging and time-sensitive conditions.
Maintain and update existing concepts, tasks, and criteria for all levels of maintenance throughout the life cycle of the system.
Develop technical documentation, including reports, manuals, specifications, and other technical publications, to support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of systems and equipment.
Assist with engineering analysis, designing solutions to system obsolete hardware, and provide essential documentation and drawings.
Provide on-site technical assistance, support for Casualty Reporting (CASREP), and System Operational Verification Tests (SOVT).
Provide end customers with Fleet Technical Sustainment Support (TSS).
Required Qualifications:
An associate degree in engineering, science, or a similar subject with two years of recent experience, or four (4) years of relevant expertise testing, diagnosing, and repairing C4I electronic equipment.
Experience preparing technical reports/documentation using word processing or desktop publishing capabilities
Domestic and international travel is required (about 2 to 4 trips per year)
Other Requirements:
Currently hold an active U.S security clearance or be able to obtain one
A valid CompTIA Security+ or other IAT level II certification
Working knowledge of CANES (Consolidate Afloat Network Enterprise System).
Familiarity with both Linux and Windows Operating Systems
Working in a small team environment
Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000/year
