Electronic Tech III needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client in Tewksbury, MA

Job Description:

  • The role will serve in support of the data collection team. The primary tasks will involve lifting of luggage and test articles up to 40 lbs, to scan on our equipment.

  • The individual will be trained on basic operation of the equipment, to support these efforts.

  • Use of internal tools to facilitate copy of data from the equipment and data engineering may also be in scope.

  • Familiarity working within a Linux based OS is preferred, but not required.

  • This job family is responsible for providing support to engineers on technical projects and/or products.

  • Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data.

  • May create, build, assemble, modify and/or repair prototypes.

  • Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.).

  • Performs mathematical calculations per engineering specifications. Undertakes analyses of data where guidelines are provided.

  • Recommends alternative solutions to problems and obstacles.

  • May set-up and conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering analysis.

SCOPE:

  • This is an intermediate level position where incumbents have a good knowledge of the job, and company policies and principles.

  • Incumbents have some understanding of the technical aspects of the job.

  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors.

  • Exercises independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate approach.

IMPACT:

  • Contributes to the implementation of organization's goals and objectives. Decisions and achievements may have direct effect on project schedule.

LIAISON:

  • Interacts daily with supervisors and/or functional peer groups.

  • Occasionally interacts with outside customers.

  • Interaction normally involves exchange or presentation of factual information.

FREEDOM TO ACT:

  • Under general supervision, performs standard scientific and engineering studies for less complex work.

  • With additional experience within one specialty, the individual is expected to assist in conducting scientific tasks such as permit applications or calibration of mathematical models for specific phases of a project of a more complex nature. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Employee applies the basic fundamental, concepts, practices, and procedures. TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years or related experience.

  • AA degree in related discipline and 1 year of related experience
