Overview:
The successful candidate will be located in Houston, TX and responsible for providing specialist support to the production engineering team in Marathon's Bakken asset. The position requires interfacing with Marathon field and office employees, contractors, workover rig personnel, and vendors to optimize production in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Effective teamwork is required to streamline business processes.
Due to the projected activity level in this area, the candidate must be highly motivated and willing to independently develop and provide solutions including incorporating new technology to advance company profitability. The specialist needs to be thorough, detail-oriented and able to handle multiple, sometimes competing priorities and stakeholder demands. The successful candidate will be located in Houston, TX. Preferred travel to field locations in Dickinson, Dunn Center and New Town, ND would be annual or semi-annual and will provide value to the specialist processes.
Responsibilities:
Support engineering team with accrual and financial data input, review, and analysis.
Provide artificial lift reliability support with data checks, analysis, and monthly reporting.
Facilitate root cause failure analysis program by compiling and organizing material ahead of meetings and ensuring follow-up activities and documentation are completed.
Maintain and update files including well files (tear down reports, field pictures, lab analyses).
Maintain and update Wellview and associated databases with tear down and failure information.
Create and write AFEs for installations and wellwork.
Support team with data mapping in automation software.
Interface with data & analytics and IT teams for accessing and integrating multiple data sources (e.g. Wellview, SCADA, ProCount, SAP, vendor databases, excel sheets) to build, update, and maintain data analytics tools to evaluate systems and program's performance.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
5+ years of specialist experience is preferred but not required.
Excellent oral and written communications, teamwork, planning & organizational skills.
Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products including: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with Spotfire and Tableau preferred.
