Engineering Team Lead

Alianza is looking for an experienced and talented Software Engineering Team Lead to serve the members of an engineering team building an enterprise-scale front-end application. As the face of your team, you will also enjoy collaborating regularly on interesting challenges with other company functions such as Product, UI/UX, Architecture, DevOps, Support, and other leaders across our organization! This is a Utah HQ position.

The Position

• You will be owning the outcomes on one of the teams responsible for developing and delivering our next generation Unified Communications Application.

• Our teams work with the latest web technologies and are engaged in cross-platform application development targeting Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android. The development stack is Typescript, React, React-Native, Electron.

• You will lead, facilitate and work alongside your team to engineer well designed, testable, and efficient software. You will mentor and coach them to promote sustainable engineering practices, and help drive engagement, share vision, and inspire your team to deliver quality software products for our customers!

Requirements

• A technical degree from a reputable University (CS preferably or STEM) or equivalent years of experience

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer

• 3+ years of experience in a leadership role

• 3+ years in a technical leadership role

• Experience in building and managing technical teams

• Experience in mentoring technical team members

• Experience conducting performance reviews and coaching to a well-defined job description

• Experience in managing schedules and working to meet deadlines

• Experience in working with Product to understand and build out business requirements

• Experience in writing and enforcing team policies and procedure that makes teams work efficiently

• A strong interest in web technologies and cross platform application development (e.g. Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, or Web)

• Experience in writing for REST and/or SOAP based web services

• Strong writing and oral communication skills

• Must have experience in either Electron and/or React/React Native

• Experience with TypeScript, NPM, Yarn, Node.js

• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment

• Experience with the collection, monitoring, and alerting of software metrics Experience with Linux/Unix and shell scripting

• Experience with IaaS and PaaS - primarily Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Familiarity with Docker

• Experience with Git and Github
