Job Responsibilities

The Tri-County Technical College Engineering and Industrial Technology Division invites applicants to the role of Engineering Systems Technology Instructor. Applicants should possess expertise in the field of study and have a desire to work in a collaborative learner-centered environment focused on student learning and success.

Instructor job duties include teaching, assessing and improving student learning, instructional development, advising students, and College service. Teaching assignments may include both day and evening classes, online classes or hybrid classes on multiple campuses or high school and career center campuses. Students may be Associate Degree seeking, or students who plan to transfer to a 4-year Engineering program.

About Engineering and Industrial Technology

The Tri-County Technical College Engineering and Industrial Technology programs prepare students for exciting careers as automation specialists, multi-skilled technicians, automotive technicians, HVAC technicians, facilities technicians, industrial maintenance technicians, designers, CNC programmers, welders, engineering technicians, manufacturing managers, and more. The skills learned here can be used on the job in a variety of settings.

Our highly qualified faculty provide project-based, hands-on learning experiences that require the regular participation of the student. As such, programs in this division have a more rigorous attendance policy than the College.

The Engineering Systems Technology degree prepares the student to pursue a career as an electromechanical or automation technician. Students who enjoy solving problems and want to work with sophisticated robots should consider the Engineering Systems Technology program.

Students will learn the skills to work as a technician, systems integrator, automation technician, or in product testing. Students may choose to take courses towards an Associate's Degree in this field, however, we have a large number of students who choose to transfer to a 4-year institution to earn their Bachelor's Degree. Engineering Systems Technology has well-established transfer programs with multiple 4-year institutions.

Job Duties Include:

Teach assigned courses using systematically planned and delivered instruction for the program.

Review, evaluate, and revise on a continuing basis course objectives, instructional materials, and course syllabi. Design new courses as needed. Ensure compliance with all accrediting guidelines.

Serve as academic advisor to students and participate in student recruitment and development.

Maintain records of student academic progress and attendance, evaluate level of achievement, and assign grades for the program.

Participate in professional development activities to improve teaching competence and to stay current in the teaching field; serve on College committees and participate in recruiting and marketing activities.

Other duties as required by the Department Head.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in an engineering discipline.
