American Plant Maintenance (APM), located in Woburn, MA, is the premiere steam system maintenance company in New England. We are seeking to hire a full-time Engineering Systems Associate to support our continued strong growth. You will report to the Engineering Systems Manager and be a key component in the handling, processing, and reporting of data that we collect.

The Engineering Systems department strives for 100% accuracy in reporting, which requires a thorough understanding of our process and our context within APM, as well as an analytical approach to resolving data inaccuracies. The right candidate will take the initiative to seek out answers to immediate questions as well as ongoing training and continuous feedback and improvement. You must be capable of handling a variable workload, especially heavy during the heating season, without becoming overwhelmed. This position may be well-suited for a candidate with a background in data entry or technical writing.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and support data collection system for field technicians
  • Retrieve and verify collected field data
  • Generate and revise reports and sales quotes for customers
  • Acquire and maintain working knowledge of steam systems and parts
  • Document engineering systems workflow processes
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Fastidious organizational nature and attention to detail
  • Efficient task prioritization and workflow habits
  • Prior knowledge of steam systems a plus but not required
