Lead the development and integration of project strategies which may cross several disciplines; evaluate alternatives against agreed criteria.
This positionreports to the Senior Director of Nutrition Device R&D. Baxter provides one of the broadest Parenteral Nutritionportfolios globally, which includes premix IV solutions, vitamins and lipids,as well as pharmacy workflow management, labeling, compounding technology andenteral nutrition syringes and accessories.
The Engineering Specialist will manage the engineering team in charge ofdevice management of the Clinical Nutrition Global Business Unit's automatedand manual compounding platform. Thisposition will coach and drive the technical team.
Essential Duties and
Lead the development and integration of projectstrategies which may cross several disciplines; evaluate alternatives against agreedcriteria.
With team, select strategies and appropriate levelof risk and understanding full range of implications across the system.
Develop and implement new product/processesrequiring development of technologies.
Plan and schedule project implementation.
Responsible for defining scope of work for projectteam.
Manage, identify, hire, develop and recognizetechnical staff.
Create and maintain employee and organizationaldevelopment; as well as HR plans, which meet business needs.
Apply specialized knowledge in a creative way to abroad range of difficult problems.
Review and analyze proposals to determine ifbenefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures.
Approve and submit proposals to Sr. Management.
Preparation of project cost estimates up tomulti-million-dollar range.
Manages and forecasts all project expenditures andcost tracking.
Policy setting and defining procedures for the staffin accomplishing and documenting projects.
Assist in the development of overall engineeringdepartment policy.
Approve protocols and support documentation(engineering change requests, system change forms, etc.) in order to secureproject release.
Develop staff members to assume technical approverrole.
Develop strategic resource plan from multiple global locations and engineeringresources.
Technical Lead on the new Platform Development Project.
Excellent technical skills.
Must possess knowledge of related disciplines.
Knowledge of GMPs, FDA guidelines, purchasing practices and process validation.
Must be self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills, capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience.
Ability to manage multiple cross-functional teams simultaneously.
Ability to design and influence outside of immediate scope of responsibility.
Maintain industry contacts and be involved in industry interest groups.
Proven track record of management/leadership effectiveness.
BS in relevant engineering discipline, MS preferred.
10-12 years of relevant experience.
