Engineering Services Manager

Primary Function:

To provide Technical Engineering and project management support for the plant Engineering functions.

Develop and Manage projects and engineering functions for the plant to improve equipment, tooling, processes and procedures that align with plant and business unit objectives.

Duties Include:

• Manages and coordinates all new and improved business opportunities including samples.

• Works with customers, sales, engineering, and other plants as needed to coordinate a successful process from inquiry to shipment of production requirements in regard to process design and development.

• Works with Staff personnel in the determination of the processes, equipment, tools and methods to be used in the manufacturing of the plants products.

• Manages the design and samples employees as well as coordinates workload and priorities.

• Provide coordination with Value Stream Engineering/Capital projects as needed. Responsible for budget planning/coordination and reporting on plant capital projects.

• Track Die and Rebuild.

• Quote and launch APQP Projects.

• Provide engineering support throughout the plant as needed.

• Oversee Engineering Kanban process.

• Prepare Process Performance KPI reports.

• Complete LPAs as scheduled.

• Responsible for the strategic engineering decisions and direction for the plant.

• Serves as the engineering liaison between Value Streams and coordinator of strategy.

• Works in conjunction with other staff personnel on continuous improvement activities and coordination,

• Along with the rest of the management team, is responsible for communication and execution of plant objectives.

• Responsible for oversite of all plant layout and capacity revisions.

• Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process and quality systems.

• Coaches supervisors and team leaders in problem solving and performance management.

• Interacts with all functions of a site operation (e.g. Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, etc.).

• Use various GEMBA walks as a method of tracking process and adherence.

• Perform other duties as required.

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical related field with a minimum of 7-10 years of manufacturing (or equivalent combination of formal education and experience) with first-hand experience in Engineering.

Experience: Firsthand experience in at least 3 of the following areas: Engineering, quality management/engineering, manufacturing engineering, product engineering, salaried supervision, financial management, human relations management, or operations management.

Work Environment:

• The Engineering Manger will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and safety shoes

• The facility is temperature controlled; the normal temperature is approximately 68F during the winter and 85F during the summer

• Daily work involves working with grease, oils and other manufacturing related chemicals

• Daily work involves being in and around elevated temperatures and heat sources of up to 2000F
