Summary of Position
Supervise and coordinate the Engineering team members with engineering (Product, Manufacturing and Facilities) work as assigned. Project Manager for various Growth initiatives and Capital Improvement projects. Responsible for the coordination of the company's internal and external supply chain.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership and development for the engineering team members.
Prepare annual budgets for the department.
Recruit for Engineering positions
Work with Dealer and Direct Sales channels to configure, quote and manufacture custom units
Responsibility for the oversight of FS Solutions systems including JDE, Pro-E, Big Machines and other applicable engineering / manufacturing systems.
Manage DOT process to ensure compliance (design, supplier and quality procedures)
Responsible for the motivation and development of personnel within your organization to ensure professional growth of all employees. Completes annual succession planning to identify and develop high potential employees. Perform performance reviews for all direct reports.
Communicate and coordinate with suppliers where engineering input is required to develop specification for products and/or components.
Work with purchasing, production, manufacturing engineering, marketing, service, and engineering personnel during the implementation of a project.
Oversee FS Solutions internal quality processes along with supplier quality compliance
Evaluate product or product modification to determine the degree of success of the product in terms of performance and user satisfaction. May include travel to the field and/or trade shows.
Manage facilities and equipment including maintenance, and capital improvement projects.
Provide direction and guidance for improving process capabilities and cost reductions.
Formulate and execute plans related to supply chain, material systems, and planning to achieve strong financial performance with emphasis on delivery and inventory turns.
Responsible for the inventory accuracy of parts inventory, cycle count program (if applicable) and internal and external audit requirements relating to inventory. Coordinate the excess and obsolete inventory reduction efforts.
Work closely with the direct organization and customer base to ensure proper training in the operation and maintenance of the different Vactor and Guzzler products.
Work closely with service, parts, sales, engineering and manufacturing to ensure proper training information and technical information is being generated.
Assist others in interpreting the information supplied on detail drawings.
Perform other duties as assigned, assignments, and special project that may be required.
Travel to other FS Solution sites to provide guidance and assistance on projects, systems, and inventory.
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline required; Advanced degree is a plus
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline required; Advanced degree is a plus.
Minimum of ten years' experience in manufacturing or engineering, mobile equipment.
Experience with project management of construction, expansion, MRP projects
Experience with on-highway mobile equipment preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills
General computer literacy
