How to thrive in this role?

  • Design ballscrew/leadscrew mechanisms that are in compliance with Customer Specification Control Drawings.

  • Plan and prioritize Engineering department tasks.

  • Create Design Proposals.

  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings and bills of material.

  • Develop and maintain design and development project plans.

  • Develop Customer Compliance Matrices.

  • Create qualification and acceptance test plans.

  • Perform risk analyses including FMEAs.

In addition to:

  • Plan and conduct internal and external design reviews.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure manufacturability.

  • Resolve manufacturing related issues.

  • Communicate with Customer and Vendors regarding all technical aspects of the Company.

  • Participate in Material Review Board.

  • Participate in Company process improvement projects.

What are your contributions to the team?

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

  • You have a minimum of 7 years' experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.

  • You have familiarity with aerospace hardware and mechanical assemblies.

  • You have the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • You have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with all teammates.

  • You have the ability to read and create engineering drawings in accordance with ASME/ANSI Y14.5.

  • You have the ability to perform tolerance stack-up analysis.

  • You have the ability to understand complex Customer specifications and drawings and translate them into detailed manufacturing drawings and methods planning.

  • You have the ability to write process procedures and work instructions.

In addition to:

  • You have the ability to perform basic stress analysis using traditional methods and FEA.

  • You are familiar with MMPDS (MIL-HDBK-5).

  • You are familiar with AS9100 Design and Development practices.

  • You have the ability to apply and specify and select aerospace metallic materials, special processes and NDT.

  • You are proficient with SolidWorks 3D modeling and drawing creation.

  • You are familiar with mathematical analysis tool such as MathCAD or Matlab.

  • You are familiar with ERP systems.

  • You are proficient in MS office tools.

Preferences will be given with:

  • Knowledge of bearing steels and their applications.

  • Knowledge of screw threading theory, design, analysis and manufacture.

  • Knowledge of shafting design, analysis and manufacture.

  • Knowledge of precision machining and assembly.
