About the job

The Red Hat OpenShift Product Management team is looking for an OpenShift Product Management Intern to work on our Kubernetes container platform. In this role, you will be responsible for specific Red Hat OpenShift subsystems and work with our product teams responsible for building and delivering these to market. You'll be involved in the planning and carrying out of the releases of our offerings and new launches, prioritizing and communicating product requirements in order to guide development, supporting the field teams in advanced sales opportunities, performing competitive reviews and analysis, and working with partners. As an OpenShift Product Management Intern, you will engage with open source communities that support our container initiatives, including Kubernetes, Open Containers, OpenShift Origin, CoreOS, Fedora, CentOS, and more. You'll need to have great communication and teamwork skills. This is a great opportunity to work on a fast-growing offering alongside some of the brightest minds in open source.

What you will do

  • Collect and document input from the Red Hat OpenShift product team

  • Research competitive solutions, both commercial and do-it-yourself alternatives, documenting their relative strengths and weakness to develop competitive positioning and collect input for new releases

  • Work with Red Hat OpenShift product management and the overall product team to manage releases and updates of the offering and bring new Red Hat OpenShift solutions to market

  • Support sales and marketing activities, including creating presentations, blogs, demos, and other technical product collateral

  • Review and provide feedback on the documentation for our offerings

What you will bring

  • Ability to work full-time hours during Summer 2023 in the location listed

  • Full-time student at a university with concentration in Computer or Information Technology related areas

The following are considered a plus:

  • Coursework related to product management or general business management

  • Linux skills and direct experience with Linux container technologies and Kubernetes

  • Skill set in distributed systems, resource management solutions, storage technologies, software-defined networking (SDN), enterprise logging, and monitoring solutions

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Heroku, or similar cloud or application management solutions

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Familiarity or experience with popular runtimes and application frameworks is a plus

  • Experience with open source technologies and business models is a plus

May lead a project team comprised of engineers and technicians. <br><br> Educates medical and technical staff on medical technologies. Leads quality improvement activities and suggests innovative solutions to technical problems.</p><p>PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><p>Note: The term medical equipment may be either or all of electronic, mechanical and computer-based technologies for use in clinical or research applications. Some clinical engineers may have a concentration on technologies that are more network and IT-based.</p><p>1.With some guidance, leads a project through all stages of a project plan. Works with a multi-disciplinary team of internal and external customers and stakeholders to identify the needs, coordinates the purchase, manages the installation, helps organize the in-service training, plans for the handoff to day-to-day operations, and documents the project. May manage a project team of other clinical engineers, BMETs, and/or team leaders.</p><p>2.Assists in capital equipment purchases and preparation of budgets. Works with clinical or research departments to design, implement, and analyze studies for new medical equipment evaluations and trials.</p><p>3.Evaluates safety and efficacy of medical devices. Investigates cost-effectiveness of alternatives to current technologies. Leads quality improvement activities regarding medical equipment.</p><p>4.Suggests and helps implement strategies for management of technology in</p><p>assigned clinical areas or technologies.</p><p>5.Under supervision and guidance, investigates clinical incidents involving medical devices and prepares and files appropriate reports (with department QA and Safety Coordinator), disseminates information regarding possible hazards and implements corrective action.</p><p>6.Communicates to manufacturers about problems with medical devices; ensures appropriate response.</p><p>7.Manages, participates in, and may develop training programs and teach</p><p>educational programs for clinical and technical staff. Helps to mentor technical</p><p>staff.</p><p>8.Maintains knowledge of and advises hospital personnel of codes and regulations regarding clinical devices and support facilities.</p><p>9.Maintains a proficient level of Clinical Engineering expertise to act as a resource to the department.</p><br><ol start="10"><br><li><p>Serves on internal and/or external hospital committees and working groups.</p></li><li><p>Provides on-call response to administrative, management and/or technical</p></li><br></ol><p>problems.</p><br><ol start="12"><br><li>Performs other related duties as required.</li><br></ol><p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p><p>1.BS in Engineering.
