POSITION SUMMARY

As Project Manager of Purple's Operation's team, you are responsible for the technical and commercial success of the projects in your program, as well as for customer satisfaction. You will manage Purple's resources and third-party subcontracted resources daily as you support the Operations team in partnering with general, mechanical, and electrical-contractors involved with new construction projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Program Management Team to plan, schedule, and execute your projects adequately to comply with customer program milestones and deadlines

  • Identify and manage risks in your projects and escalate risks to program management wherever a risk is likely to negatively impact a key project milestone or budget.

  • Manage the KPIs in your project portfolio including Forecasted Costs, Planned Costs, Actual Costs, Cost Variances, Schedule Variance, Cost-to-Complete, Cash-Flow, Billing, and Revenue.

  • Manage the contractual components of your project portfolio including Scope, Schedule, Change Orders, and Risk and Opportunity.

  • Manage stakeholder expectations, and proactively communicate between all stakeholders to ensure all parties are aligned and all issues and conflicts are resolved.

  • Document all key meetings, important decisions, changes in scope, and dependencies on other trades which impacts Purple progress.

  • Create Monthly Status Reporting and Management Level Reporting for projects in your portfolio.

  • Coordinate procurement and logistics of materials and labor for timely delivery in line with project execution.

  • Manage responsibilities related to safety requirements and quality assurance for projects in your portfolio.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Required education: High school diploma, state-recognized GED, or state recognized high school proficiency exam.

  • Preferred education: Bachelor's Degree

  • Preferred certification: PMP

  • Preferred experience: Workfront

  • Required travel to other company facilities: 20%

  • Required experience: 2+yrs proven success managing deadlines and financial responsibilities of projects (construction preferred).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in the U.S. without a need for current or future sponsorship.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Project and Microsoft Excel.

  • Proficiency with Workfront is not required but is preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY As the Manufacturing Project Manager, this person will lead complex projects of high corporate strategic importance including the construction of several production lines, equipment installation, and equipment procurement for a large manufacturing company. The Project Manager will provide subject matter expertise in all areas including detailed project management, lead critical-to- business PM projects, serve as a vital coach in helping the organization successfully execute projects. The incumbent will maintain control of schedule, cost, safety, and quality at all times and will present to executives on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. He/she will also manage vendor relationships and contracts throughout the installation and ultimately ensure project is closed on time and in scope. This role will report directly to the Innovations Executive. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Manages multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment to ensure project results * meet requirements regarding quality, reliability, schedule, cost, and technical * requirements. * Lead project teams through all phases of construction, installation and commissioning; * prepare ongoing plant leadership team with appropriate training to deliver at stated * production levels. Troubleshoot and support post-commissioning as needed to ensure * complete and capable operation. * Establishes project strategy, executes the plan and measures results. * Responsible for making decisions regarding the appropriate risk when there is * substantial program impact. * Supports and reinforces all company safety and quality programs and initiatives. * Manages and monitors project execution to understand, communicate and address * changing project needs. * Responsible for the completion of assigned projects at or ahead of the target dates * defined in the project plans. * Manages, creates and continuously improves upon standard work and processes for * exceptional project management techniques. * Prepares and delivers presentations to executive leadership around project status, * constraints, and critical issues and helps facilitate the adoption of best practices. * Quickly and proactively identifies and mitigates risks, resolves issues and leverages * opportunities within each assigned project. * Responsible for monitoring all financial aspects of the project (estimated cost, planning, * and staying within budget). EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of experience in construction/manufacturing * project management with at least 5 years managerial/supervisory experience; Or * Master's degree with 6 years of experience with at least 3 years managerial/supervisory * experience. * Must have hands-on injection molding and/or hydraulic engineering management * experience. * PMI or PMP (Project Management Institute, Project Management Professional) * certification preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or similar is a plus. * Demonstrated experience in managing a complex building construction project including * installation and commissioning of equipment and handoff to local operating team. * Strong vendor management skills including skills in reviewing contracts * Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, and solve complex problems * Superior analytical skills to evaluate complex, multidimensional problems and/or * interdependencies and propose appropriate solutions * Successful experience leading cross-functional teams * High attention to detail and strong sense of urgency while working on projects and * deadlines simultaneously * Ability to clearly communicate and influence at senior leadership levels, as well as with * project teams * A Green or Black Belt certification is a plus.
