Our rapidly growing analytical laboratory is a unique community of people and values. Our scientific and quality teams are looking to expand our community into the engineering world. The engineer will be involved in a variety of engineering tasks from equipment calibration, clean-room design and build to evaluating new processes for a large laboratory environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop clean room designs, controls and maintenance programs

  • Implement equipment, processes and facility validations

  • Design and control building management systems, including HVAC systems

  • Leverage knowledge and experience with the following to develop and grow the engineering component of our business:

  • Holistic lifecycle process in process development

  • Resource management techniques

  • Risk management and mitigation techniques and tools

  • Business intelligence and report creation

  • Stakeholder management-driven scope and requirements

  • Conversion of business strategies into growth strategies

  • Financial models and metrics

  • Program variables that impact development velocity

  • Enterprise-wide change management program across multiple development sites and plants, and within multiple regions and cultures

  • Manage different levels of team competency, across different functions and cultures

  • Work with the IT group in application development

  • Work remotely and as part of a virtual team

  • Travel up to 60% of the time, as required


  • Masters of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • Five years of post-graduate experience in a regulated industry

  • Experience in regulatory requirements (ISO, FDA etc.) and/or flow analysis a plus

  • Strong project management planning, organizing and documentation skills

  • Must be creative, inquisitive, analytical and detailed oriented

  • Must be able to work in a team environment

  • Must be Self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in conflict resolution

Certifications: ASQE a plus

The Project Manager is the AECOM representative interfacing directly with the client and leads the project team in the execution of the engineering and procurement phases of a capital project. Provides oversight and direction to lead discipline engineers, project controls and procurement professionals assigned to the project. Manages single or multiple concurrent projects ranging from $20 – 200MM TIC. Ensures client expectations and contract obligations are met. Ensures company expectations and as-sold commitments are achieved utilizing company processes and procedures. Position Description or Typical Responsibilities: * Under direction of the Operations Director, Project Director or Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager * Demonstrates advanced knowledge of working with Principal Engineers and Lead Discipline Engineers to determine man-hour requirements for each discipline consistent with the project requirements and schedule * Coordinates staffing of projects with qualified personnel with functional managers * Supports development of the project execution plan and ensures that necessary contract requirements, procedures and standards are incorporated * Demonstrates basic knowledge of establishing overall design basis reflecting client and regulatory requirements and good engineering and design practice * Demonstrates basic knowledge of coordinating the technical activities among disciplines on the project and identifying change * Schedules and coordinates engineering meetings (internal and client) * Ensures proper documentation of meetings, agreements, and conversations that affect the conduct of the project * Coordinates the client's engineering comments, approvals and requests with the functional activities of all disciplines * Monitors adherence to manpower estimates and schedules, identifies variances and implements corrective actions * Keeps Operations and project team informed of project progress, performance and manpower utilization with attention to delays, adverse trends, errors and omissions * Demonstrates AECOM's safety and quality culture * Continually improves technical knowledge and capabilities * Acts with integrity in all elements of responsibility * Expresses ideas clearly and listens effectively to the ideas of others Minimum Requirements Education: * Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from a four-year accredited college or university. Experience: * 8 years relevant experience in upstream oil and gas process facility engineering projects with at least 2 years of this experience in a project engineering management capacity * Advanced experience in FEED through detail engineering, procurement, and construction phases and gated project delivery processes * Proficient with home office interdiscipline engineering, procurement, project controls, document control and quality assurance work processes and interfaces * Effective verbal, written and presentation skills * Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel Preferred Qualifications Experience: * Previous engineering or construction engineering experience with unconventional oil and gas production facilities * Previous engineering or construction engineering experience with projects in cold regions * Previous project experience integrating multi-office engineering execution, including high value engineering centers * Previous field engineering experience in support of construction, commissioning or operations * Licensed Professional Engineer eligible for licensure by reciprocity * PMP certification, or equivalent Additional Information: * Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test * This positions does not include sponsorship opportunities for United States work authorization * Must possess or be able to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) * Relocation and/or Per diem are not available for this position What We Offer When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future .
