Job Description:

The F-35 Training Market Segment within the Training and Logistics Solutions (TLS) line of business in Rotary and Mission Systems seeks well-qualified applicants for an Engineering Project Manager (EPM) position.

Reporting to the F-35 Training Development Chief Engineer, this position will serve as a F-35 Training Development EPM responsible for overseeing engineering content for the Development Foundation Contract 2 (DFC2) contract, as well as infrastructure & tools modernization scope on Block 4 contracts. The DFC2 contract ensures prepared and maintain Training lab environments to support all training system development, integration and test activities for current, fielded, and planned baselines. This position is responsible for directing and managing all phases of the engineering product design and development lifecycle of Pilot, Maintenance and Infrastructure Training products to ensure overall Air System Alignment, Product Relevancy, Lifecycle Affordability, Sustainability, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources Changes, and user problem resolution.

This position will be responsible for continuing to enhance F-35 Training development processes, with a focus on lab & tool modernization, and ensuring relevant training products are delivered per cost, schedule and technical requirements. The F-35 Training development organization is critical to the long-term success of the F-35 Program and it is imperative that we deliver on our commitments to our warfighters around the world.

Basic Qualifications

  • Cost, schedule and technical performance of F-35 Training scope.

  • Providing inputs to the Agile and DevSecOps transformation to ensure executable transition plans are laid out to meet needs.

  • Responsible for ensuring IPT leads, CAMs and all engineering support functions are working to development processes & commitments.

  • Shaping F-35 Training development & modernization by ensuring affordability, cost reductions and deployment timeline reductions continue to be driven into the business.

Will design, develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions taking into account project constraints of scope, cost, risk and schedule in support of meeting critical mission requirements by use of software technological means. Requires standardized programming development using existing industry-proven coding standards for military applications in concert with corporate security and backup and recovery compliance requirements for both hardware and software infrastructures. Technical fortitude and dedicated focus shall be required for successful code implementations and software lifecycle support in a large-scale cloud-based enterprise system that will interface with multiple external systems in its support of advanced visualization requirements. This position will grow skills that will learn to articulate technical requirements to non-technical customers to ensure understanding of capabilities being developed and released to both internal and external users. Once understood, the position will require operational procedures and technical documentation to be developed that will ensure consistent, repeatable, and scalable support aimed to provide software enhancements required by both internal and external system stakeholders. This position interacts with personnel on fairly complex technical matters often requiring coordination, collaboration and decisive actions to assure project success with minimum risk.
