Role and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Operations in reducing costs through re-engineering of equipment and processes.

  • R & D of new equipment approaches and technologies proprietary to WS Packaging.

  • Evaluate facilities to ensure electrical, air, and HVAC requirements are met during preparations for the install of new equipment or moves of existing equipment.

  • Develop and provide project timelines to facility and executive management, along with working with scheduling and Maintenance to coordinate efforts.

  • Develop Equipment Spec's and acceptance criteria.

  • Daily management of Engineering team members and project assignments to ensure schedules and deadlines are met.

  • Assist in developing plant layout in planning rearrangement of facilities, equipment and operations for better utilization of space.

  • Work closely with innovations, quality assurance and maintenance personnel to improve efficiencies of equipment.

  • Stay informed concerning new manufacturing technologies and equipment in order to manufacture and reduce cost through efficiencies.

  • Support new equipment introductions.

  • Ensure vendors/subcontractors are manufacturing products according to product specifications.

  • Select vendors/subcontractors for new product launches to meet target date.

  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Process or Industrial) or equivalent work experience.

Minimum of seven to ten years' experience in Engineering related field with three to five years' management/supervisory experience preferred. Experience with flexographic and offset printing equipment as well as corresponding finishing and support equipment a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Solid Works (3D CAD) and/or Auto Cad (2D CAD) Proficiency

  • Ability to design and evaluate mechanical and electrical systems in above programs

  • Programming of PLC systems and vision systems

  • Project Management experience with technical capacity

  • Microsoft Office Excel, Word, MS Project, Visio, and Outlook

  • Experience in tool design and modifications

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to facilitate conversations with suppliers, co-workers, management, and subordinates.

  • Proven leadership skills to motivate subordinates to work effectively and efficiently; ability to clearly communicate expectations and manage the performance of subordinates to achieve goals.

  • Ability to analyze data to identify trends, areas for opportunity, and to determine needed changes.

  • Must be self-motivated, organized, and results and action oriented.

  • Must possess sound interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to make independent and sound decisions.

Physical Demands:

Quiet conditions; will work in a manufacturing environment at which time noise level may be medium to loud. Will be required to wear hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. Frequently may be required stand for a long period of time, stoop and kneel on a continuous basis. May handle, feel and reach for items in and around press area, also write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting and/or move up to 40 lbs. may be required. Vision: close vision, distance and color vision to distinguish color variations, peripheral and depth perception as well as the ability to adjust focus. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.

VIEW JOBS 8/16/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-11-14T00:00 Role and Responsibilities: * Practice & sustain Lean Manufacturing and 6S procedures. * Meet attendance & production standards & follow all WSPG policies and procedures. * Maintain communication at all times with production team. * Able to learn inventory processes and press terminology. * Able to learn company specialized computer software and perform tasks within the system * Able to accurately prepare a kit for each upcoming production job. * Able to follow the press schedule and stage the next job for press per workorder and SOP instructions. * Assist with changeover activities, including wash-up and set-up * Appropriately disassemble kits and return cleaned and/or unused items to designated storage locations. * Act as a resource for pressroom production to reduce downtime and improve productivity. * Monitor inventory levels of auxiliary supplies at press and replace as needed. * Monitor scrap/waste containers and replace as needed. * Match, mix, and prepare color to customer supplied samples or Pantone color guides. * Communicate concerns, issues and status of specific production orders with co-workers and supervisors. Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues. * Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards. * Participate in process improvement initiatives. Duties may be changed or additional duties assigned.
