The Engineering Manager is responsible to provide direction and leadership to the VCI Engineering Department to achieve plant business goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise and manage the employees in the Engineering Department.
Lead SPS and LCCS projects using six sigma and lean methodology driving continuous improvement as it relates to safety, quality and productivity.
Establish timelines and budgets for engineering activities in new business, capital, and improvement projects while ensuring objectives and timelines are met.
Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, Shiloh standards and customer contract requirements and related specifications.
Coordinates activities concerned with part development, scheduling and resolving engineering design and production problems.
Identify, research, and recommend opportunities to introduce new technology to ensure the company has a technological edge in the market place.
Works with internal and external suppliers to ensure smooth and cost-effective new product litigation.
Address behavior as well as work conditions to meet or exceed Shiloh's injury incident rate.
Manage maintenance team in absence of maintenance manager.
Other duties as assigned
This position supervises the automation and mechanical engineers.
Education and/or Experience
Skills and Abilities
Competent in working with Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and Project Management software applications
Understanding of blanking and welded blanking systems and products.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
