Reporting to the Director of Engineering & Innovation for the Consumer Goods Industry Sector, the New Product Development Engineering Manager leads an effective design team in the realization of world class Rexnord products that: meet customer requirements on time, on budget and at an unsurpassed quality level. This position works cross-functionally and cross-globally with Product Management, Production Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Production and Application Engineering in support of the total lifecycle of the Product Lines.
Leads by example, advise, and grow a team of mechanical product designers to ensure the development and sustainment of robust products that meet customer expectations while continuing to evolve the skills and capabilities of the team,
Works closely with markets segment teams, cross-functional and regional leadership to create and maintain global and local processes and standards related to the product development of Plastic modular chains and components,
Partner with the global engineering teams and Innovation Center to implement and drive the evolution of new innovative products and technologies,
Lead the support of sustaining of our core products through Value Analysis and Value Engineering process; design improvements, functionality enhancements, obsolescence management, and coordination of issue discovery and root cause analysis,
Review and approve development lifecycle items, including: planning documents, requirements documents, bills of material, and product and process validation and testing,
Establishes performance objectives, provides fair and constructive feedback and assesses associate performance, training needs, and areas for improvement for the possibility of future growth within the organization. Ensures training and development needs are addressed.
Hire new employees as business demands grow and take an active role in the development (skills and performance) of employees on the team. Generates and implements innovative ideas and recommendations and understands the critical responsibility to meet deadlines at the same time.
Have the capability to execute multiple projects with the discipline to stay focused with top priorities.
A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Master's Degree preferred
10 years experience in engineering and product development projects
1 years of direct management experience
Proven experience in mechanical design, design validation, and product life cycle testing,
Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CAD programs.
Specific experience with Dassault SolidWorks and PDM Pro is preferred
Ability to travel up to 10%; some global travel required
