POSITION INFO:

This position is primarily responsible for directing and coordinating various engineering programs essential to the organization in support of accomplishing safety, product integrity, service, cost, and lean manufacturing objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure product design & manufacturing engineering projects, initiatives & processes are in conformance with established policies/objectives.

• Lead product and manufacturing engineering staff through performance management and develop the necessary skills and experience in order to maintain a competitive skill set.

• Facilitate new product introduction and process improvements.

• Maintain asset data base and maintain product engineering drawing; Maintain engineering document control per ISO procedures. Maintain product standards are within regulatory requirements and changes are discussed with corporate reps.

• Manage the development & maintenance of tools and fixtures.

• Serve as a liaison between corporate and engineering functions.

• Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases related to product.

• Coordinate new product and process implementation into manufacturing and support Lean events.

• Drive implementation and future planning for the product and operations Technology Roadmap.

• Provide Technical support as needed; provide support & technical guidance for made to order products.

• Facilitate Engineering Change Request and Notification.

EXPERIENCE:

10 years' in product or manufacturing engineering with lean experience preferred.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.

TRAINING AND SKILLS:

Ability to facilitate & present; Project Management; Microsoft Office; basic principles of cost accounting; understanding of regulatory requirements; design & mechanical engineering skills; Unigraphics experience a plus, Pro/E or Solidworks acceptable; experience with ERP system; tooling and process analysis; leadership and management; product and process knowledge; Lean Manufacturing techniques; effective communication verbal and written in all directions; innovation.

Internal applicants must meet the following criteria: 1) If the posted position is an hourly or salary level 1, the associate must be in their current position for 18 (eighteen) months; 2) if the position is salary level 2 to salary level 5, the associate must be in their current position for 24 (twenty-four) months; and 3) if the position is a salary level 6 or above, the associate must be in their current position for 30 (thirty) months.
