Role Summary:

The Engineering Manager Houston Service Center will work at the Houston Service Center and lead a team of Process Control and Powerplant Engineers to repair and overhaul GE's Aero-derivative gas turbine engines and modules. This role will help support the repairs of 160+ engines/year, 400 modules/year, close to $1b revenue/year.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Engineering Manager Houston Service Center, you will:

  • Define and drive a strategy for the engineering teams that will maximize shop output of the highest safety and quality standards through the technical and shop processes they provide.

  • Coach and mentor the team members so they grow in their technical and support function expertise.

  • Provide technical support in the disassembly, repairs, and assembly processes for the shop floor and customers.

  • Support pre-induction activities and promote accurate work scopes to improve flow through the shop.

  • Act as a technical liaison between the shop and commercial teams or directly to customers to expedite decision making concerning test operations and results, NCR's, and work scopes.

  • Lead initiatives through data analytics such as NCR trends to meet Service Center Fulfilment Goals and Objectives - (EHS, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Productivity).

  • Create and delegate sustainable processes to ensure seamless shop operations. Critical areas include working with the operations team to address the tooling program, updating manufacturing processes, NCR resolution, supporting RCA's, owning the equipment maintenance and P&E budgets, critical equipment uptime, and shop floor routers and work instructions.

  • Develop a strong partnership with internal and external teams.

  • Be an inclusive and courageous change agent to help foster a culture of safety and quality as we transform the shop into a World Class facility.

  • This role will report directly to the plant manager and support the 200 + shop floor personnel from a technical standpoint and drive productivity/manufacturability/cost-out improvements for the business.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in a production/manufacturing environment.

  • Experience providing technical support and

knowledge of LM2500, LM6000, LMS100 gas turbine models
