About the Role:

We're looking for an Engineering Manager who loves solving complex problems. You will help us build our platform from the ground up to serve our growing customer ecosystem.

You'll be tasked to be a leader who will help ship systems, drive, and design to power our next generation B2B inventory marketplace. We are an early-stage startup with amazing traction, and we're moving with velocity! Our team has abundant growth potential as well as a direct impact on shaping the future of Ghost.

This role is remote. Our headquarters is in Los Angeles, California, and we have an office in New York City.

  • Team Building and Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-caliber engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Ensure an environment where engineers feel supported, challenged, and motivated to excel.

  • Leading Delivery: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring timely releases, high quality, and efficient use of resources. Maintain a balance between building sustainable, maintainable systems and shipping things quickly.

  • Technical Excellence: Maintain a strong understanding of the technology stack and architecture, ensuring engineering decisions are well-informed and contribute to a robust and scalable engineering ecosystem.

    You're not the go-to technical expert, but you understand our technology choices.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and deliver products that meet business and user needs. Facilitate effective communication between engineering and other teams within the organization.

  • Growth Mindset: Embrace challenges, learn from failures, and continually seek to improve oneself and the team. Encourage a culture of experimentation, learning, and feedback.

About You:

  • Proven track record of leading engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software on time at a startup

  • Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and modern development tools and practices.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, focusing on promoting a positive, inclusive team environment.

  • Data-driven outcomes validate their work

  • Ability to make decisions and find alignment with the team

Our total compensation for this position can range from $180,000 - $220,000. The actual amounts may vary based on factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the position.
