Summary:
The Facilities Services Manager/s Engineering is responsible for providing 24/7 physical plant high state of operational readiness, safe and comfortable environment for patients, patient's families, staff and other customers within and around facilities operated by Covenant Healthcare. Responsible for operating and Capital budgets, planning/assigning and scheduling of staff to achieve best utilization of resources.
The Facilities Services Manager/s Engineering demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.

Employee Relations:
Responsible for employee management as it relates to job performance, evaluation, counseling, corrective, disciplinary and corrective action, interviewing, hiring and associated documentation.
Practices good labor relations through coaching, mentoring, motivating, and encouraging staff.
Sets expectations related to teamwork and building through example and practice.
Directs staff and others in ensuring routine
plant operations, repair, and preventative maintenance of equipment, systems, utilities and grounds.
Schedules and coordinates facilities work performed by in-house staff and outside contractors. Assures quality standards and applicable codes and standards are met.
Is accountable for the development, maintenance, and performance of Department/Facility Capital, Man-hour, and Operating Budgets.
Negotiates as required, manages, monitors performance, and ensures accountability for service contracts for equipment and systems for assigned facilities or at a corporate level.
Facilitates and collaborates with contractors on behalf of Department Managers and Facilities Engineer for minor projects and capital equipment installations. Provides construction support to the Facilities Engineer for minor and major projects as planned and scheduled.
Ensures compliance in all areas of position responsibility as it relates to but not limited to insurance underwriters, AHJ's, HFAP, EPA, DEQ, MDCIS, Office of Community Health and Fire Safety.
Acts as resource for guidance and support to Leadership concerning Facility Engineering and environmental issues.
Interacts and collaborates with Environmental Managers in all relative aspects Facilities Management.
Embraces the Customer Services concept through the Corporate Vision of "A Promise of Caring and A Commitment to Service."
Integrates customer service into department operations and direct activities to achieve identified targets. Initiates, develops, and participates in customer service activities at the department and corporate level.
Works individually or collaboratively with others in ensuring required compliance documentation and methods thereof are developed and maintained.
Interacts with and guides regulatory agency representatives through Covenant HealthCare facilities as required.
Works individually and collaboratively with others in quality improvement using Focus PDCA, Six Sigma, Quality Council, and other methods. Provides documentation to support such efforts within Facilities Services.
Other information:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Industrial Management, Business Administration or appropriate field from an accredited university. Consideration will be given to candidate/s without a degree but with commensurate experience. Requiring a commitment to obtain education requirements within a specified time frame.
Must have three-five years experience in Facilities Management/Engineering Maintenance Management in a leadership role.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Clear and proven understanding of healthcare facilities operations, systems, and related equipment.
Management and application of general and preventative maintenance principles, programs or Computerized Preventative Maintenance systems.
Applicable standards, codes, and requirements for healthcare.
