Avery Dennison is currently seeking a Process and Technology Manager to join the leadership team at our manufacturing site in Peachtree City, GA.
Your primary responsibilities and essential functions of this position include:
Lead team of process engineers to improve the manufacturing process to drive step change improvements in product quality and site productivity.
Lead and develop the engineering team to improve process reliability, technology advancement, and support continuous improvement projects.
Ensure that all manufacturing equipment has established standard operating conditions (process settings / recipes) for each product or product family, to optimize product quality and productivity.
Participate in Division strategic planning sessions to understand the future needs of the business and incorporate them into site strategies.
Create a vision and strategy A3 for both engineering and capital improvements to enable the site to achieve both its annual operating plan and 5-year strategic plan aligned with the future state value stream map.
Drive YOY improvements in employee engagement throughout the site and support Avery Dennison's Diversity and Inclusion objectives.
Lead capital project planning, communication, and execution to achieve time, cost, and results targets.
Manage/control cost center and engineering project portfolio to achieve targeted results.
Foster a culture where safety is a core value in daily operation and strive towards an accident-free workplace. Support the processes and practices to ensure site compliance with legal, legislative and corporate safety requirements. Support technological innovation that enhances employee safety.
Collaborate with other plants/divisions to identify and implement operational standard methodologies.
Actively participate in monthly process linkage meetings across sites to share best practices.
Apply rigorous observation and analytical tools to identify and execute projects focused on safety, quality, operating cost, productivity, and fulfillment of customer requirements.
Facilitate/collaborate with other functions to insure project objectives are aligned with division and plant objectives.
Ensure that the engineering team is using the appropriate problem solving methodologies
Ensure that the engineering team completes corrective action letters (short term actions) and thorough corrective action reports (long term actions that contain both corrective and preventive actions) in a timely manner.
Own and improve the site's Management of Change (MOC) and Temporary Operating Deviation (TOD) processes. Lead the team to complete process capability studies before and after significant changes to evaluate impact.
Member of plant leadership team with leadership responsibilities both within primary function and beyond.
Provide training, mentoring, performance planning, and feedback to develop direct reports and others.
Engineering team currently consists of three process engineers and two project engineers (electrical/controls, mechanical).
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5-8+ years solid business experience in a manufacturing environment.
2+ years effectively leading an engineering team
2+ years process engineering experience
Experience completing process capability studies
Capital project experience
Proven experience in leading complex problem solving activities
Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to influence and motivate others to excel.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Ability to work with others in a team environment. Actively promote collaboration & teamwork and resolve conflicts.
Strong organization and computer skills
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems (including automation control, AC and DC drives, mechanical drives and systems, PLCs, sensors, and motor controls).
Exposure to Six Sigma or Lean Methodologies (Black Belt/Green Belt).
Computer skills - Google, MINITAB, MP2, Rockwell RS software.
