OVERVIEW: Engineering Intern will collaborate with and be mentored by Engineering Consultants on our team. The selected intern will work with associates assisting our practice groups on a variety of projects in engineering disciplines, many scientific disciplines, architecture, and forensic analysis.
NOTE: This is a part-time position located in the Lakewood Ranch or Naples, FL area. The hours are 5 to 10 per week. Candidates that reside within a commutable distance of one of these cities please apply.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs field work as directed by manager.
Assists with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
Perform routine calculations requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles.
Collect and prepare data for evaluation.
Perform engineering with the use of computer-assisted engineering software.
Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
Performs other duties assigned by the management team.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, and CERTIFICATIONS:
Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Structural, or similar field of Engineering.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior internship or related experience preferred.
Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, and/or additional programs preferred.
Civil/Structural engineering preferred; all engineering or construction students will be considered.
REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.
Strong desire to advance knowledge in engineering concepts related to Rimkus work and projects.
Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

The pay rate for this position is $15.00 to $22.00 per hour depending on experience.
