CamelBak Products, LLC has a history of delivering consumer products with breakthrough innovation and superior performance. As an Engineering Intern, you will support the engineering team by executing assigned projects using hands-on prototyping and testing, engineering design and analysis, objective reasoning and feedback from cross-functional design and marketing teams.
Support the day-to-day performance of CamelBak's R&D lab through equipment maintenance, setup, fixturing and operation.
Partner with cross-functional teams to take new product concepts and demonstrate feasibility through proof-of-concept prototyping and testing.
Provide support to design and manufacturing engineers for lab testing and CAD work as needed.
Perform miscellaneous tasks on current products such as report writing, data collection/analysis and dimensional measurements as assigned.
Application of engineering analysis skills in the execution of design and test programs for consumer products.
Communication of progress and results using written, verbal and graphical methods.
Interaction with automatic and rotating laboratory test equipment.
Aptitude for learning and operating precision optical, hand held and electronic measuring systems.
The ideal candidate would possess the following characteristics:
Recent graduate or currently pursuing an engineering degree or technical equivalent (Junior level or higher).
Ability to commit to a six-month (approx. June through December) internship/co-op with evaluation at year's end for a possible six-month extension.
Demonstrated passion for the outdoor industry.
Hands on mechanical aptitude with basic hand tool and fabrication knowledge.
Experience with testing in a scientific laboratory environment.
Entrepreneurial spirit and creativity for new ideas and solutions.
Experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and Excel including advanced graphing functions.
Ability to work independently and multi-task with little supervision.
Enjoys the challenge of an open, innovative, fast-paced environment.
Good interpersonal skills with a willingness to communicate effectively and frequently.
Computer terminal use up to 6 hours per day. Ability to handle extended periods of standing.
Ability to lift 30lb on a regular basis.
