Responsibilities and Qualifications

CamelBak Products, LLC has a history of delivering consumer products with breakthrough innovation and superior performance. As an Engineering Intern, you will support the engineering team by executing assigned projects using hands-on prototyping and testing, engineering design and analysis, objective reasoning and feedback from cross-functional design and marketing teams.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day performance of CamelBak's R&D lab through equipment maintenance, setup, fixturing and operation.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to take new product concepts and demonstrate feasibility through proof-of-concept prototyping and testing.

  • Provide support to design and manufacturing engineers for lab testing and CAD work as needed.

  • Perform miscellaneous tasks on current products such as report writing, data collection/analysis and dimensional measurements as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Application of engineering analysis skills in the execution of design and test programs for consumer products.

  • Communication of progress and results using written, verbal and graphical methods.

  • Interaction with automatic and rotating laboratory test equipment.

  • Aptitude for learning and operating precision optical, hand held and electronic measuring systems.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would possess the following characteristics:

  • Recent graduate or currently pursuing an engineering degree or technical equivalent (Junior level or higher).

  • Ability to commit to a six-month (approx. June through December) internship/co-op with evaluation at year's end for a possible six-month extension.

  • Demonstrated passion for the outdoor industry.

  • Hands on mechanical aptitude with basic hand tool and fabrication knowledge.

  • Experience with testing in a scientific laboratory environment.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and creativity for new ideas and solutions.

  • Experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and Excel including advanced graphing functions.

  • Ability to work independently and multi-task with little supervision.

  • Enjoys the challenge of an open, innovative, fast-paced environment.

  • Good interpersonal skills with a willingness to communicate effectively and frequently.

Working Conditions:

  • Laboratory and office environment as indicated by responsibilities.

Physical Endurance:

  • Computer terminal use up to 6 hours per day. Ability to handle extended periods of standing.

  • Ability to lift 30lb on a regular basis.

Responsibilities and Qualifications The Product Release Coordinator position is an action-oriented role focused on bringing new products to market. This position collaborates with CamelBak Product Teams to gather and finalize product deliverables and data needed to successfully commercialize and launch each new product. This position drives all commercialization transactions and deliverables required for any product across all product lines with cross functional / cross departmental stakeholders. This includes the timely release of internal information, release of specifications to factories / points of distribution and ensuring the specifications yield high quality product. Position Responsibilities: * Partner with the Product Managers, Designers, Engineering and Developers to: o Deliver accurate specifications for final commercialization o Flow updates to the team and factories with appropriate review and approvals o Coordinate extended team activities § Regulatory Assessments and Readiness § Quality Assessments and Readiness o Coordinate Supply Chain decisions and drive alignment with Buyer/Planners, Import/Export and Oracle Set-up * Identify all commercialization deliverables based on inputs from the appropriate Product Team. * Assign part numbers and delivery dates for each deliverable per the needs of the supply chain and CamelBak customer. Where needed, break out commercialization deliverables in order to flow specifications to the factory * Drive the release of specifications to the applicable factory in conjunction with Document Control Deliverables include, but are not limited to: o Style, SKU & Part Number set up and assignment in Centric/Arena o Style, SKU & Part Number assignments for any required warranty replacement parts o Soft Goods SMU Sewing Specifications in coordination with the Developer o Hard Good SMU Specifications in coordination with Engineering o Required artwork in coordination with Design/Creative Services o Material and Product Regulatory Compliance documents in coordination with Regulatory o Commercialization & Quality Inspection per product style in coordination with Quality o Finished Goods Packaging, Hangtags & Call-Out Tags in coordination with Marketing/Creative Services o Import/Export Compliance requirements in coordination with Customs Compliance o All required Dimensions and Weights in coordination with Developer/Engineering/factory o UPC Sticker data & Over-Stickers o Finalization of Arena/Centric PLM Item Set-up & Bills of Materials in coordination with Engineering/Developer/Sourcing o Final product costing in coordination with the Product Operations Manager o Product Retail/Wholesale pricing in coordination with Product Manager o Hand-off of required Oracle SKU set-up data o First Off Production Approvals (Factory/Quality) * Continuous improvement of all SOP's related to product release. Creation of new SOP's when a changes in process occur or an update has been implemented in Centric.
