This position requires an individual with a strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering and a person willing to comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.
Position responsibilities include:
Support Engineering Staff
Work as a technical resource for management on special projects and quality improvement initiatives
Perform routine tasks associated with Internal Research and Development projects
Gather and analyze data for the Engineering staff
Coordinate selected aspects of technology / productivity improvements for Engineering
Support process improvement and cost reduction activities for the department
Participate in lean manufacturing events at East Hartford Operations, including 5S, TPM, and CIL improvement activities
Activities as needed / assigned by management

Must be enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering degree program
Experience with CAD 2D or 3D software
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products i.e. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Machine shop experience preferred
Need to be hardworking and detail-oriented
Must be a problem solver who will bring new and creative ideas to the table
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required
